The 13th Beirut Film Festival will begin today, screening the American movie “ Gravity” as its opening film.
“Gravity” also opened the Venice Film Festival this year, which lead actors George Clooney and Sandra Bullock attended. The movie revolves around a medical engineer and astronaut in his last trip to outer space who find themselves lost in space after their shuttle crashes.
Seventy-seven movies are included in this year's official selection. The films are categorized into eight sections: Panorama, Retrospective Sokurov, ME Documentary Competition, MEShort Film Competition, Lebanese Corner, Kids Corner, Culinary and Human Rights Watch, in collaboration with the international rights organization.
The Beirut Film Festival which began today will hold its closing ceremony on October 10th, screening the American movie " The Immigrant," directed by James Gray.
