Veteran actor Tom Hanks has praised Zac Efron’s decision to check himself into a treatment center for addition, saying it was a very “courageous step to take” in an interview promoting his new film "Captain Phillips."
What is the connection between Hanks and Efron, you say? Hanks produced “ Parkland,” a reliving of President John F. Kennedy’s last day, in which Efron plays the doctor that treats him at Parkland Hospital in Texas on that fateful day. The film got mixed reviews after screening at various festivals, and is expected to hit theaters on October 4th.
Efron has been rather silent on the experience since E! News reported at the end of September that he had finished a stint in rehab nearly five months ago. He recently posted an Instagram picture of him at Machu Picchu in Peru, thanking his fans for their support.
