The 5th Baghdad Film Festival Starts Today

Baghdad Film Festival is preparing to launch its 5th round with the opening ceremony tonight. The party will start with a performance by the “Dunyazed” ensemble, followed by presenting the jury members, including the Italian director Laura Battaglia, and the French director Fabian Gorgerat, and the Candian/Lebanese director Katia Gergoora, in addition to the Iraqi director Tariq Al Jaboury, director Dina Al Qabbany and director Hady Mahood.

The introduction of the jury members will be followed by a speech by the festival's director, and the head of the jury, before announcing the start of the events, and the first day screenings, which include the Egyptian short film “Sahr el Farasha” (The Butterfly Charm) by Romany Saad, and the short film “Silence of the Swamps” by the Iranian Fatima Dastmard. The festival is supposed to conclude on the 10th of October.
