Mark Wahlberg wanted Brad Pitt to Play Christian Grey in 50 Shades

E! Online magazinereported that at the Hollywood reporter's producers Roundtable, Mark Wahlberg said that he wanted Pitt to appear as Christian Grey in " Fifty Shades of Grey," nothimself. The actor talkedabout how he almost purchased the rights to the film, beforeUniversal won the bidding war over the rights.

Wahlberg mentionedPitt again on the Roundtable, when he was asked why he chose to gotowards producing films in the first place. "I wanted to producebecause I was never going to get the script first," he quipped."I had to wait for Brad Pitt to pass."

The part landed on Jamie Dornan at theEnd as Christian Grey, with Dakota Johnson as the female lead. Themovie is scheduled for a Valentine's release in 2015.
