Disney will release a sequel to Alice in Wonderland on the 16th of May in 2016, the studio announced on Friday.
The first part was directed by Tim Burton, and won two Oscars for best costume design and best art direction, from a sum of three nominations.
The Wrap added that Johnny Depp, who played “Mad Hatter” in the first part will be back in the sequel playing the same character, along with Mia Wasikowska who will also re-appear as Alice.
The sequel to the $1+ billion grossing film will be released in 3D, and will be directed by The Muppetsdirector James Bobin.
