In an exclusive interview with, producer Mohamed Hefzy revealed that his new film“ Farsh we Ghatta” (Rags and Tatters) will run in theaters for anadditional week, after it was set for a limited one week release inonly 6 theaters across Egypt.
Hefzy said that the film was met with relatively good response from audience since its release lastTuesday, which motivated him to extend the film's run, a decisionthat was also justified as authorities ended the curfew that has beenongoing for 3 months, which helped increase demand on theaters onceagain.
“Farh we Ghatta” was written anddirected by Ahmed Abdalla, starring Asser Yassin, Amr Abed and Yara Goubran, and it follows a prisoner's (Asser Yassin) escape from jailduring the public chaos that followed the 28th of Januaryevents in 2011, and his journey back to his hometown and throughother slums marginalized districts in Cairo.
