Taylor Swift was the big winner at theawards, she was awarded Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock FemaleArtist, Favorite Country Female Artist and Favorite Country Album(for Red). Second to Swift, came Justin Timberlakewho won three awards Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, Favorite Soul R&BMale Artist and favorite Soul R&B Album.

The 25-years old Rihanna won theinaugural Icon award, while favorite band and favorite Pop Rock albumwent to One Direction.

The ceremony included someperformances; Lady Gaga and R. Kelly performed “Do What U Want”paying homage to Marilyn Monroe and JFK. As usual, the party's buzzcame from Miley Cyrus who lip-synced her performance of “WreckingBall” with a pussy cat projection mimicking her mouth.
