Tom Cruize Drops Lawsuit Against Magazine Which Claimed He Abandoned his Daughter

Attorneys of Tom Cruise and the Bauer Publishing Company which publishes U.S. Celebrity magazine agreed to have the lawsuit dismissed. It was originaly a $50 milliom defamation lawsuit against the media company which published a report claiming he had “abandoned” his daughter, Suri, following the divorce he had with Katie Holmes.

There was no information available of whether there was an out of court settlement in the case. The lawsuit gave a glimpse about the actor's tightly guarded private life and his practice of Scientology religion.

Cruise is one of the high profiles practicing this religion besides John Travolta and many others. Actress Leah Remini was one of the most prominent celebrities to leave the church of Scientology earlier this year.
