Watch: Presidency Denies Granting Mohamed Khan Egyptian Nationality

Ambassador and presidency spokesperson Ihab Badawy has confirmed that news about the presidential decree issued to grant director Mohamed Khan an Egyptian nationality were just a hoax, as the presidency only issued a recommendation, and not a decision.

On Gaber Elqarmouty's daily show “ Manchette” (Headline), Ihab Badawy pointed out that the current constitution does not allow the president to grant the Egyptian nationality to any person, and that the person responsible for executing such a decision is the minister of interior affairs, so temporary president Adly Mansour has issued a recommendation to the minister to grant Khan the nationality, considering what the media passed around to be false information.
