One Direction won the MTV's Stars title after a neck and neck race with,who else? Justin Bieber but the group won the title collecting morethan 40.7 million votes.

Biebercollected 40.5 million votes in the contest that witnessed more than117 million vote. The band members tweeted their reactions as usualthanking their fans: "We’ve just found out that you voted us top ofthe list for the MTV’s Stars of 2013 – thank you so, so much!”Liam said when hearing about the win.

Thecontest ranked Kesha third and Seconds to Mars fourth with the top 10including The Wanted, Beyonce and Rihanna.
