The first official picture from the Ridley Scott film " Exodus" was released through Empire magazine, with Christian Bale as the prophet Moses.
The photo features Bale on a horse with a statue of Rhamses being built in the background by ancient Egyptians.
The film is set to be released by the end of this year, and is a new take on the story of Moses from his birth till his confrontation with Ramses, and the escape of the Israelites from Egypt and their eventual settlement in the Promised Land. Along with Bale, "Exodus" stars Joel Edgerton as Pharaoh Ramses, John Turturro as Ramses's father Seti, Sigourney Weaver as Ramses's mother Tuya, Aaron Paul as Hebrew slave Joshua, and Ben Kingsley.
The story of Moses was depicted before in Hollywood, with films like "The Ten Commandments" in 1956, which starred Charlton Heston, and was nominated for the best picture Oscar, and won one for visual effects.
