“Frozen” Tops 2014's American box Office

With Christmas and New Year'scelebrations, Disney's family movie, “ Frozen” toped the U.S. Boxoffice with $19.6 million for a six-week total of $296.7 million.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones” came second in its opening weekend with $18.3 million.Although it was expected to top the box office, the horror movie hadthe lowest opening weekend for a Paranormal Activity movie.

Part two of “The Hobbit,” The Desolation of Smaug came third with $15.7 million pushing its grossto $229 million, collecting $465 million overseas.

Scorsese and DiCaprio's “ The Wolf of Wall Street” came fourth, despite the controversy the movie iscausing, it's solidly keeping up on the chart with $13.2 million thisweek and a gross of $63 million on its second week.

Sony's “ American Hustle” closed thetop 5 list with $12.4 million and a gross of $87.9 million from 4weeks of screening.“ Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”backed to the sixth position from the third last week pushing “ Saving Mr. Banks” to the seventh slot which pushed “ The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” by its turn to the 8th position.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”is still on the box Office's top ten adding $7 million to its gross,reaching $407 million for the big production that costed $130million. At the bottom of the list is De Niro and Stallone's “ Grudge Match,” with $5 million this week.
