'Ride Along' Spearheads American Box Office for Second Consecutive Week

Ride Alongmanaged to keep its position on top of the American box office list for the second consecutive week, after it earned $21.2 million this week.

The film stars Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, and was directed by Tim Story. It follows a cop who's trying to prove that his sister's boyfriend is ineligible for her, so he decides to take him along on a 24-hour-long car patrol in the streets of Atlanta, creating a series of comic events.

In the second place came the war action Lone Survivor, also keeping its position from the last week, and earning $12.9 million. The animated The Nut Job arrived at the third position with $12.2 million.

Frozen advanced one step to the fourth place this week, earning $9.1 million, while Paramount's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit stepped back to the fifth place with $9 million,

The new comer I, Frankenstein made it to the sixth place this week, after it earned $8.6 million. The film was directed by Stuart Beattie, and stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy and Yvonne Strahovski. American Hustle followed at number seven, after adding $7 million to its gross.

The Wolf of Wall Street took one step above last week's position, landing at number eight this week with $5.4 million, and at the bottom of the list came August: Osage County and Devil's Dueat number nine and ten respectively, with revenues of $5 million and $2.7 million.
