After the success of The Wolf of Wall Street, the film's stars Leonardo DiCaprioand Jonah Hill have decided to re-team for a film about Richard Jewell, produced by 20th Century Fox.
Security guard Richard Jewell discovered a backpack containing pipe bombs during the '96 Atlanta Summer Olympics. He eventually sounded the alarm, helping to clear the area.
Initially hailed as a hero, Jewell was soon the prime suspect, as the FBI searched his home twice. A media frenzy painted him as an overweight failed cop and mama's boy, and he became the punchline for late-night jokes. He was cleared in the end, and the FBI were forced to make public apologies.
Jonah Hill is set to play Jewell, and DiCaprio will play his lawyer. The Wolf of Wall Street has earned $226 million worldwide, and is nominated for five Oscars, including Best Actor for DiCaprio and Best Supporting Role for Hill.
