In interviews with , the makers of “Decor” have stated that the film is an homage to classic Egyptian cinema and its icons.

Director Ahmed Abdalla stated that the film was shot in B&W, in a way that was implemented in the storytelling, in addition to referencing stories and settings of classic Egyptian films. Writer Mohamed Diab expressed his happiness for the fact that Ahmed Abdalla is directing the film.

Horeya Farghaly said that the film will be a huge shift in her career, mentioning that her role is completely different than any other she has made, and that the film is full of complicated feelings.
