Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave was crowned the Baftas' best film for 2013, in the (British Academy Film Awards) ceremony that took place yesterday.
Chiwetel Ejiofor won best leading actor for his role in the film, while Cate Blanchett won best leading actress for her role in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.
Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity was the night's top winner, with six awards added to its long list of accolades, including best director, British film, cinematography, special visual effects, sound and original music.
