In an interview with Wonderland, Emma Watson stated that she fell ill on location during the production of Darren Aronofsky's film Noah, as the director banned the use of bottled water in an effort to echo the film’s environmental concerns.
With some shoots taking place from 4 am, the actor often found herself “tired and delirious” on set and in need of rehydration. On one occasion Watson was so thirsty that she accidentally drank a mug of stagnant water. Furthermore, the actress was shocked when she asked for a break from the continuous work in difficult conditions, and the Black Swan director requested the she “used her ilness” in the shooting of one of her scenes instead.
Noah, which is set to hit theaters next March, tells the biblical story of the titular character, and features Russel Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth, in addition to Anthony Hopkins.
