Jennifer Lawrence stated that she thought she was being the subject of a mean joke when she first heard that she had won a BAFTA award for best supporting actress, for her role in American Hustle.

She also said that she was almost sure she would not win the award that she forgot when the BAFTA awards ceremony was going to take place. She was also busy shooting her scenes in X Men: Days of Future Past as the character of “Mystic” when she was told the news. “So there I was, in the middle of being painted blue (for an X-Men character), and someone said, 'You just won the BAFTA!' And I said, 'Oh, go f**k yourself!' And then it turned out they were serious," The Hunger Games star added.

Lawrence also took a decision to stay aloof from the awards season this year to avoid the additional stress they could bring. Lawrence is also nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for her same role in American Hustle, to be the youngest Hollywood actress to ever win four Oscar nominations.
