International pop-star Jennifer Lopez has confirmed she will participate in the opening ceremonies of the World Cup in Brazil after all, reversing early reports that she was backing out.
The official spokesperson for Lopez announced that she did not want to disappoint her fans or football fans around the world, though they did not offer any details on her initial decision not to participate.Lopez will perform alongside rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte in the opening ceremony, which is set to kick off in Sao Paulo this Thursday.
The trio will perform the official song of the World Cup, “We are One,” which was recorded in English, Spanish and Portuguese, in advance of the opening match-up between Brazil and Croatia. The music video was shot in Brazil, the host country for this year’s Fifa World Cup Tournament.
