New Film Brings Together Meryl Streep and Her Daughter

Mamie Gummer, the daughter of American film legend Meryl Streepis in talks to join her mom in the upcoming comedy film “Ricki and The Flash.”

The film, which is about a woman who left her family to chase after her dream of becoming a rock n’ roll star, will be directed by award-winning director of “ The Silence of the Lambs,” Jonathan Demme.

Streep is already slated to play the role of “Ricki” while Gummer would play her onscreen daughter, “Julie.” Kevin Klineis also in negotiations to play the role of Streep’s onscreen ex-husband.

The last time Streep and Gummer appeared in a film together was in “ Heartburn” (1986) when Gummer was only 2 years old. Kline and Streep also starred together in “Sophie’s Choice” in 1982.

“Ricki and the Flash” is set for theatrical release on June 26,2015.
