Neil Patrick Harris to Host 2015 Oscars

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science has announced that comedian Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the 87th Academy Awards ceremony.

Patrick released a short video on his Twitter account in which he appears with a piece of paper where he wrote his latest wishes, which included hosting the Oscars.

Harris said that hosting the Oscars after great names like Johnny Carson and Billy Crystal has been a big wish that has finally come true.

Harris has hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony in 2009 and 2013. He is the second homosexual star to be chosen for the stint, after Ellen Degeneres which hosted last year's ceremony.
