Actress Mariam Fakhr Eldin passed away this morning, aged 81, at El Maadi Military hospital, accoring to Sameh El Sereity, deputy of the actors' syndicate.
Fakhr Eldin's health condition has been worsening constantly recently, after she underwent a surgery to remove a blood clot in her brain, which forced her to stay in the hospital's intensive care unit until her death. El Sereit stated that her family haven't decided when the funeral will take place.
Mariam Fakhr Eldin was born in 1933 in Fayoum, to an Egyptian father and a Hungarian mother, and enjoyed a prolific career that ended in 2009 with the series “ Elwatar Elmashdood” (The Taut String).
