The Panorama of the European Film will be hosting the Serbian director Ivan Ikic to screen his latest film Barbarians, which received a special mention at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival of 2014.
The screening will take place at 6:30 p.m at Galaxy Theater in El Manial, and will be followed by a discussion with the director. The film depicts the manipulation and deceit of Serbian youth through the character of Luka, a young football hooligan.
Also screening today at Galaxy are the French comedy Hippocrates, directed by Thomas Lilti, the Austrian film The Dark Valley, directed by Andreas Prochaska, and Rachel Beth Anderson's documentary First to Fall, which follows two Canadian men who join the Islamic uprising in Libya.
Zawya theater will be screening the Swiss documentary Unknown Territory by Anna Thommen, the Italian comedy Human Capital by Paolo Virzi, the Swiss documentary My Father, The Revolution and Me by Ufuk Emiroglu, Thomas Vinterberg's The Hunt and the British comedy Frank by Lenny Abrahamson.
The 7th Panorama of the European film has commenced yesterday, and will conclude on the 29th of November.
