El Sobky Challenges Film Industry Chamber Ban, Begins Production Of "Regatta"

Producer Mohamed El Sobky has commenced the production of his new film " Regatta", which stars Amr Saad, Ilham Shahin, Mahmoud Hemeida, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Malek, and is directed by Ahmed Samy.

El Sobky's decision to start working on the film is considered a challenge against a decree issued by the Egyptian Film Industry Chamber, headed by producer Mohamed Hassan Ramzy, which bans El Sobky from producing any films for 12 months, as a reaction to his public defamation of several members of the Chamber's board, including Ramzy himself, during a live talk show.

El Sobky's latest production, " Hadeed", was the cause of the dispute between him and Ramzy, after the first claimed that the later has prevented his film from being released in some theaters in favor of his own production " El Gezira 2".
