Lebanese singer Haifaa Wahby has congratulated her fellow countryman and filmmaker Ely Dagher for the Palme D'Or for best short film he won at the 68th Cannes Film Festival last Monday.
Dagher's film "Waves 98" is the best Arab film to win the prestigious award in history. An animated film, it follows a school student called Omar, who lives in a village north of Beirut. One day, Omar notices a peculiar being that resembles an animal, which guides him to discover a very special part of the city.
Wahby is still shooting her scenes in her upcoming series "Maryam".
