An old man on his deathbed sends for his children and grandchildren, the first of them being Omari, who is living in seclusion for a long time, and Dawdy the architect who lived for a long time with the old man. His children and grandchildren go to the village to say goodbye and hear the last words of wisdom, including taking care of the land.
