When the businessman Zuhair is accused of his wife's murder, he is referred to a psychiatric hospital for assessment. His lawyer, Yousef, tries to get Dr. Karima to testify in Zuhair's favor. Karima's sister-in-law informs her that her brother Idris in involved in an embezzlement scheme.

Aida pretends that she didn't know about her husband's illegal activity and that she doesn't know where the money is. Zuhair agrees to give Yousef half of his fortune if he proves his innocence.

Karima discovers that Idris implicated her daughter Raqia and Osman by putting money in their bank accounts. Aida tries to launder the embezzled money. Yousef searches for information about Karima's personal life.

Yousef makes a deal with Dr. Wasef to work around Karima's involvement in Zuhair's case. Idris asks Aida to find him a lawyer. Zuhair refuses to tell his daughter, Nesma, why he killed her mother.

Yousef finds out about the case against Idris and Raqia's involvement. He gets Wasef to insist on a medical diagnosis for Zuhair. Karima pays Entesar, Zuhair's sister, a visit to get more information to help her assess his mental state.

Karima discovers that Yousef tried to bribe Dr. Gamal and decides to keep an eye on him. When Karima visits Nesma for information about Zuhair's illness, Yousef unexpectedly arrives and gets angry.

Idris quarrels with Aida over her slow attempts to help him and her refusal to use the money to get him out. Yousef visits Aida and offers to help her. She discovers that some of the money is missing shortly afterwards.

Aida discovers that Shahy stole the money to give to Rashid, whom she married in secret. Yousef asks Dr. Sherif to give him the medical reports of a schizophrenic patient. When Karima sees Dr. Kadry, she discovers that Ramy has worked with Idris but he didn't know where the money came from.

Karima discovers that Idris married Rabab who has documents proving the innocence of Kadry's son. Sherif refuses to help Yousef. Shahi and Rashid announce their marriage.

Sherif decides to cooperate with Yousef. Nesma gives Karima her mother's diary. Karima also receives the medical report that Yousef tampered with. Zuhair loses his temper and beats Yousef during a visit.

On Yousef's orders, Wasef deliberately provokes Zuhair. Yousef suspects Gamal's loyalty. Kadry tells Karima that he doesn't think the medical report is Zuhair's.

After Shahy and Rashid's wedding, Shahy is surprised when he is gentle with her, as Idris breaks down that he didn't attend the wedding. Aida is called in by the Attorney General.

Zuhair quarrels with Entesar. When Yousef gives Wasef a record of his agreement with Gamal, Wasef gives it to Karima to prove his loyalty. Aida decides to work with Yousef after she learns of Idris' second marriage.

Aida refuses to testify that Idris gave Karima the money like Yousef wants her to. Zuhair proves Gamal's innocence to Karima. Rabab and Aida plan on how to get Idris' money from the bank account of Kadry's son.

Aida plots to deceive Rabab and take the money. Yousef informs Manal that her brother Sherif is working with him, and threatens to expose him if she doesn't withdraw her report on Zuhair's case. Gamal insists that Wasef is working for Yousef.

Manal quits the medical committee. Aida gets the money from Rabab and tells Karima about Yousef's demands. Karima is surprised by the report Wasef submits about Zuhair's case.

Karima decides to repeat Zuhair's MRI. Yousef tries to use her brother's case to get her off the case. Sherif stabs Yousef and commits suicide. Haroun visits Zuahir's house and tells Nesma that he is her mother's cousin.

When her request to repeat Zuhair's tests is halted, Karima resigns and Wasef is put in charge of the case. Yousef threatens to have Manal arrested if she reveals the truth.

Yousef seeks Haroun out to learn about the secret he shares with Zuhair. Karima learns that Zuhair refuses to reveal the details of his crime to protect Nesma. Karima strongly denies Wasef's accusation of corruption.

Haroun demands money from Entesar to reveal Zuhair's secret but she kicks him out and refuses to listen.

Zuhair tells Karima that he has nothing to do with Yousef's case against her. Wasef gets appointed as chief, as Karima is summoned by the court.

Karima is declared innocent and is put back in charge of Zuhair's case. Wasef is devastated when he finds out. Idris is transferred to the hospital after a health scare.

Karima refers Wasef to administrative affairs. Zuhair has seizures after he is denied visits. Yousef records Haroun's confession that he saw Zuhair kill his wife.

Yousef uses Aida to convince Karima to accept a bribe, and Karima accepts it. Idris confesses to his crime and admits that everyone he implicated is innocent. Karima finds Zuhair's old medical records.

As Idris' health deteriorates, Aida decides to return the money to secure his release. Karima sets Yousef up and tells the hospital's employees that he donated the money to the hospital, much to Yousef's fury.

The family is devastated when Idris dies. Kadry tells Karima's son, Mohanad to come back to Egypt.

Aida gives all the embezzled money back to the bank. Yousef refuses to help Rabab.

Karima promises Zuhair to allow Nesma to visit him. She takes some time off and goes to see Mohanad.

Yousef manipulates Haroun to send a message to Zuhair through Nesma. Zuhair is distressed and tells Yousef to get Haroun away from Nesma at any cost.

As Karima returns to Egypt, she is shocked to learn that Mohanad has been kidnapped. Yousef decides to pay off Mohanad's ransom to control Karima. Zuhair tries to help her get Mohanad back.

Aida dies. Yousef meets Karima to discuss Mohanad's abduction but tells her not to tell anyone about their meeting.

Zuhair puts Gamal and Rashid in touch with his friends in Iraq so they could get Mohanad back. Yousef involves his employee Sherine in his plan to blackmail Karima.

As Karima prepares her report about Zuhair's case, Yousef is furious when Kadry reveals that he knows about his conspiracy against Karima.

Karima finishes her report, refusing to give into Yousef's blackmail. Mohanad is rescued. Yousef loses everything.
