The episode starts with Reda's participation in a race using Hazem's car. Reda and Hazem quarrel. It turns out that Reda is of humble origins; his father is a foreman, and he has two siblings, Reem and Karim. The father, Abu Shama, quarrels with his son Reda to urge him to find a job.

After Hazem's attack on Reda, Reda vows revenge on Hazem after recovery. Basma, the attendant at the construction site, notices a man hired by the corrupt Awad to murder Abu Shama who is known for his loyalty and integrity.

When Basma testifies against Awad's man, Awad hires men to assault her, and she takes shelter at her aunt's house. Salama's sister wants him to make haste and prepare for her wedding, but he is on his beam ends and doesn't have the necessary money. Hazem goes to Reda's place.

Hazem wants to turn over a new leaf with Reda and asks him to work for him. Eng. Hesham and Abu Shama try to put an end to the theft rampant on the site. Awad defames Abu Shama and Basma to have them fired. Reda is shocked when a group of men attacks his father.

Awad defames Abu Shama and Basma, but Abu Shama refuses to let Awad get what he wants by quitting his job. Hesham tries to stop construction on the project because it wasn't built on sound structure. Basma agrees to meet a suitor.

Reda's engagement party takes place in a festive atmosphere, marred only by his father's illness as he's rushed to the hospital. Basma accepts the suitor, but the wedding is canceled because the groom's son has an accident. Basma decides to go back to her normal life and her work.

Abu Shama gets back on his feet and Basma visits to check up on him and meets his family. Hazem returns from abroad and asks Reda to join forces for their next embezzlement operation. Hazem's cruel side is made clear through the way he treats his mother.

Salama convinces his father to sell the land to help him travel abroad. Reda gives his brother Karim the money to travel to Ain Sokhna with his friends. Abu Shama gets back to work and so does Basma. As her neighbor attacks her, Basma beats her in retaliation and is taken to the police station.

The charges against Basma are dropped and she's released. Awad incites Hesham against Abu Shama by claiming that he is the one who is stealing the supplies. Hazem accuses his mother of being the reason why his father rotted in prison. Salama tells Reem he loves her and asks her to wait for him.

As Karim goes swimming in Ain Sokhna, he drowns, and his family is shocked to learn the news. An anonymous person sets fire to Basma's tea corner and she moves to her aunt's house where her aunt's husband tries to assault her.

Abu Shama wants to sue the tourist village for their negligence that took Karim's life. Karim is buried, and Hazem stands by the mournful Reda. Basma goes to offer her condolences to the grieving family, and as she meets Hesham, she tells him not to put his confidence in Awad.

Salama returns to his family and tells them he couldn't make it abroad because he has the hepacivirus C. Abu Shama learns that the owner of the tourist village is a businessman called Ramzy Shehab, and Ramzy tries to get the best lawyers to help him out of his dilemma.

Farag returns to the neighborhood, his feelings for Hanan unaltered, and he still wishes to marry her. Awad plots with Ramzy Shehab against Abu Shama, and Basma testifies for him at court. Hazem promises to stand by Reda. Hanan's father breaks off her engagement to Reda.

Abu Shama asks Reda to avenge Karim's death. Basma convinces Hesham that Abu Shama is innocent, and it's all Awad's plotting. Awad steals Reda's car and uses it to run over Hesham and frame Reda for it. Reda and Hazem plot for their next operation to swindle a woman.

Basma asks Reda to save her from Awad who is trying to kill her. The police accuse Reda of running Hesham over with his car, but as Basma and Reda go to Hesham to learn the truth about his murder attempt, he tells him it was Shawqy in Reda's car who hit him.

Awad's men kill Hesham, and Basma and Reda manage to escape and rent a room at a hotel. Ramzy refuses to listen to Salma and adopt a child. The police search Basma's house as well as her aunt's. The hotel that Reda and Basma reside in turns out to be under suspicion and they're both arrested.

Hanan refuses to marry anyone but Reda. At the police station, the officer tells Reda and Hanan that the only way out of their problem is to get married, which they do. Hanan is shocked to hear of it. Salma tries to get closer to her husband. Basma and Reda meet Shawqy who confesses to the crime.

Awad asks Shawqy to find Reda. To blackmail him, they plot to kidnap Reem. Salama's sister tells him that her fiancé broke up with her. Hazem decides to stick up for Reda and help him through his difficult situation. Abu Shama mourns what has become of his family.

The neighbors save Reem and her mother from Shawqy's clutches. Reda stays at Hazem's place. Salama tells Reda that Shawqy attacked Reem and her mother, and he helps Reda sneak into the house to check up on them.

Hazem visits his mother to check up on her. Reda vows revenge on Shawqy. When Reda and Hazem go to Shawqy's place to learn the truth, he tells them that Ramzy Shehab is the one who hired him to keep Karim's family silent.

Ramzy's men kill Awad and Shawqy and frame Reda for it. Reda tells Hazem he needs to flee the country, and Hazem promises to help him travel without Basma, a notion that Reda opposes. The police monitor Salama and learn where Reda is.

Basma shoots at the officer to help Reda escape. Gradually, a spark of mutual liking develops between the two. When he is interrogated, Hazem denies knowing anything about Reda. Ramzy still searches for Reda to ensure he doesn't testify against him. Hanan gets married.

Reda ruins Hanan's wedding and escapes. Abu Shama is sentenced to 15 years in prison. Reda tells Salama that he loves Hanan. The doctor tells Hazem that his mother needs a liver transplant. Reda sends his mother money with Salama. Salama is kidnapped.

Salama refuses to divulge Reda's location to Ramzy's men. Abu Shama is transferred to the hospital. Farag suffers from Hanan and complains to her family. Reda decides to visit his father to check up on him. Basma runs away.

Reda finds Basma and asks her not to leave him again. Farag beats Hanan who starts drinking. Hazem loses his shares in the stock exchange. Reda's mother buys a sewing machine and Reem looks for a job to provide for themselves. Basma reprimands Reda for believing Hazem.

Basma tells Reda that Salama left them, and when Salama goes missing, the police suspect Reda. Reda asks Shams to find a secure place for him and Basma to hide in. Alaa starts digging about the corrupt businessmen. Shams invites Reda and Basma to her party, and Ramzy sees them.

When her family learns she's pregnant, Hanan is forced to return to Farag. Reda runs away for he suspects something between Shams and Ramzy. When Reda confronts Shams, she tells him she works with Salma, that's how she knows Ramzy. The police interrogate Salama's family. Ramzy's men catch Reda.

Ramzy's men sedate Reda and lock him up in a dark room. Farag asks Morsy to forgive him and convince Hanan to get back to him. Shams tries to get Ramzy to reveal where Reda is, but Ramzy tells her to stay out of it.

Under the harsh conditions under which Reda and Basma are kept, Reda tells Basma he loves her. Hanan tries to abort herself. Reem feels guilty for rejecting Salama. The police officer feels culpable and tries to help Abu Shama's family. Reda and Ramzy meet. Reda asks Ramzy how he knew where he was.

Ramzy tells Reda it was Salama who gave up their hiding place. The doctor tells Hazem not to get his hopes up regarding his mother's operation. Salama has a mental breakdown. Ramzy asks Reda to work for him. Basma tries to escape. The police try to catch the corrupt businessmen.

Ramzy's men kidnap Basma and leave her in the blazing desert. Salma and Ramzy try to seep into Reda's mind that Basma willfully left him. Some strangers find Basma and take her in; they soon learn she's pregnant. Ramzy asks Reda to travel on a mission for him. Hanan is found bleeding.

The doctor tells Farag that Hanan took pills to abort herself. Basma asks Shams to help her rescue Reda. Hesham's wife cooperates with the police to arrest her husband's murderer. It turns out that Kamal waived a piece of his land to Ramzy in exchange for getting Reda.

Reda is saved. Shams gains access to important information condemning Kamal and Ramzy. Reda finds Kamal and forces him to write a confession revealing his plots with Ramzy. Abu Shama is released. Hanan and Basma give birth. Reda is released and lives happily with Basma and their child.
