Fatoum plots to seize the land of the Ouf family by wedding Amin to Salha Ouf. Abdel Qader approves the marriage to deceive the Shalaby family and get them to sell Salha's portion of the land to her young son Saleh.
Abdel Qader forces Salha to give her inheritance to her son so that she could marry Amin. Fatoum learns of Abdel Qader's plan. Amin runs away after the Shalaby family agrees to kill him.
Abdel Qader quarrels with Mansour who gets seriously injured in the fight. When Mansour dies from internal bleeding, Fatoum vows revenge.
Fatoum plots to take revenge on Abdel Qader by killing Ali. As the Shalaby family goes to kill Ali, he manages to fight them off, but Fatoums stabs him and takes him to her house.
As the police arrive in the hamlet and declare martial law, Abdel Qader sneaks out to kidnap Sha'ban and forces him to confess to killing Ali. Abdel Qader goes to get the sheriff, only to find Sha'ban dead when he returns.
The Shalaby family agrees to Abdel Qader's conditions and Haroun's departure from the hamlet. The mayor decides to denigrate Ja'far and torture him after he sells his land. Fatoum reports the mayor's actions to the police and gets him arrested.
As Morsy Shalaby is appointed as mayor, Abdel Qader gets involved in Ja'far's case. Morsy threatens the Shalaby family's elders to get Haroun to leave.
Fatoum poisons Farag. When Barhouma goes to Cairo to see a doctor, he runs into his brother Hassan. As Hassan and Barhouma return to the Askar hamlet, Hassan tells his father that he wants to marry Shoq Shalaby.
When Fatoum demands Hassan's portion of the land as Shoq's dowry, Shoq refuses and stands up to her aunt. Morsy threatens to reopen the investigation into Farag's death if Fatoum doesn't stop trying to sabotage the marriage.
Hassan returns to Cairo to oversee his trade. Fatoum wants to dissolve her partnership with Morsy and threatens to report him to the police if he doesn't give her her money.
Saleh is jealous of Shoq because his father is neglecting him for her. Barhouma goes to a brothel and falls into Fatoum's trap. Hassan and Shoq go to Cairo, but Hassan forgets to bid his son farewell.
Abdel Satar and his wife visit Shoq and Hassan in Cairo. Abdel Qader warns Shoq that Abdel Satar plans to seize her jewelry, but Shoq gives him the jewelry willingly.
Abdel Qader is worried about Hassan. Fatoum tells Sheikh Sayed that she wants to get married and asks him to keep an eye on Hassan. Abdel Satar visits Shoq to ask for money. Shoq discovers that Hassan has a lot of money.
When Shoq discovers that Hassan's money is gone, she claims that she gave the money to her father. Shoq decides to return to the hamlet to retrieve the stolen money, but she discovers that her father Abdel Satar ran away with a belly dancer.
Hassan returns to the hamlet to see Shoq, but Fatoum tells Shoq that Hassan doesn't want to see her. Abdel Qader enlists Morsy's help to find Abdel Satar but Morsy tries to stay out of it. Abdel Qader claims that Morsy is the one who planned the whole thing.
Abdel Qader asks Hassan to bring Shoq back, but Shoq stipulates that Hassan must write two acres of land or his shop over to her for her to go back to him.
When Shoq decides to go to Cairo, Hassan is surprised by her return and her wish to buy his shop. Shoq gives birth to a boy whom she names Sayed.
Shoq learns of Fatoum and Bakry's plans to wed her off to the latter. Hassan goes to Isma'il to declare his innocence but he finds him in critical condition. Isma'il dies.
When Hassan goes to see Shoq, Fatoum tells him that Shoq wants a divorce. Hassan agrees on the condition that he takes his son Sayed. Fatoum agrees and Hassan divorces Shoq.
When Shoq discovers that Hassan wed Nehmedo, she decides to wed Allam. Years pass and the now-grown Saleh tells Ibrahim that he wants to marry Zakia and wants the contract for his and his father's land.
Abdel Qader tells his wife not to bother Saleh because they need him. But Abdel Qader kicks Saleh out after they have a fight.
Hassan tries to help Saheh find a job. Nehmedo suggests to have Saleh finish his education. Hassanein Al-Mendash returns to the hamlet after ten years of absence.
Abdel Satar returns to his house after years. Saleh invites Shoq to see Sayed at Saleh's wedding. Fatoum tells Abdel Qader that she is still in love with him.
Sayed and Hassan attend Saleh's wedding. Shoq comes to see Sayed but Abdel Qader tells her that she is crazy. Sayed discovers that Shoq is his mother. Saleh's mother Salha comes to attend his wedding.
As Abdel Satar falls ill, Shoq tries to find a doctor. Abdel Satar dies as Fatoum reveals her plans to seize Barhouma's land. Zakia tells Saleh that she doesn't want to live in the family house.
After Barhouma dies, Abdel Qader discovers that he mortgaged the land to the Shalaby family before his death.
Hassan discovers that their land is being auctioned off. Saleh asks Zakia for her jewelry to try and keep their land.
As Abdel Qader's health deteriorates, Zakia claims that Fatoum put a curse on him. Zakia discovers that Saleh wants to divorce her.
Saleh discovers that Abdel Ghafar has started working for Morsy. Zakia gives Saleh her jewelry to help keep the land. The Shalaby family seizes control of all the crops in the hamlet.
Abdel Qader allies with his friend Al-Watidy to stand up to the Shalaby family. Abdel Qader pays off the land's debts.
Nehmedo tells Shoq that her days are numbered and that she wants Shoq to raise Sayed but she has to distance him from the conflict between the two families. Nehmedo passes away.
When Sayed decides to find the rightful owner of the Shalaby family land, Fatoum decides to kill him. Al-Medendesh hears a gunshot and discovers that Sayed was killed. The Shalaby family threatens him to keep the identity of the murderer hidden.
Saleh arrests Fatoum's guard and takes him to the police to confess that Fatoum had Sayed killed. As the police go to arrest Fatoum, Shoq kills her. Abdel Qader kills the mayor to avenge his grandson Sayed.
