Set in 1940s Alexandria, the story follows the Egyptian-Italian Bishr, who’s conflicted about his mixed heritage, and his love for the affluent, yet confused, Aida, shedding light on the struggle against the British in the Zananiri neighborhood led by El Tobji and Naima Mersal.

The story of the lives of foreigners, Italians, Greeks, and others in Alexandria in the 1940s, through the story of the Egyptian man, Bisher Amer Abdel Zaher who has an Italian mother, leaving him torn between his Egyptian roots and his Italian side that his mother and uncle want him to embrace.
