Aida meets with Bishr, after which the latter spends the night with a dancer, which angers his Italian uncle. Bishr sleeps over at his Italian mother’s, and returns in the morning to his father's agency, whereupon he gets arrested for killing Badia Asfour.

Giovanni tries to save Bishr from the trumped-up crime, and it turns out that the murdered woman isn’t Badia, but another woman in her clothes. Aida is annoyed by Mostafa, who wants to return to her. Amer saves Salah from the police during a demonstration.

Silvana seeks Giovanni’s help to obtain her rights from her husband's siblings. Salah escapes from Mohamed Badran’s house and joins Naima and her son for patriotic work. Richard and Hazan offer to let Bishr partner up with them in a new agency, but he stipulates that he gets the villa in Glim.

As Giovanni De Lorenzi tries to persuade Bishr to work with him in the cotton trade, and to work with his father, he agrees provided that he buy him Mizrahi's villa next to Mohamed Badran’s. Sheikh Abdel Fattah tries to get close to Aida, but he gets severely beaten by Mohamed Badran's men.

As Abdel Fattah faints, everyone thinks that he died, and when they go to bury him, he awakens, and is turned into a holy man; Ikram’s latent feelings for him are rekindled. Bishr moves to the villa his uncle bought for him next to Aida’s, and speaks to his father about trading in cotton with his uncle.

Hamido, Naima's late husband’s brother, gets out of prison and demands what his brother left him. El Tobji meets with Salah and a group of militants, and is assigned his first mission. De Lorenzi demands that Marco give Silvana the appropriate requital. It’s revealed that El Tobji saved Badia's life.

The royal palace’s envoy contacts De Lorenzi, asking him for money for the king. Bishr visits Badia Asfour and invites her to a celebration in his villa, which galls Mohamed Badran and Aida. Sheikh Abdel Fattah complains about the responsibilities thrust upon him after he became a holy man.

Mohamed Badran asks Amer to make Bishr quit having noisy parties. Bishr starts working in his new company. Amer visits Francesca. De Lorenzi asks Bishr to make his father leave because of their old dispute. Khamis quarrels with Rifai for being narrow-minded. Bishr suggests that Abdel Fattah marry Ikram.

El Tobji decides to stay after hours to print some leaflets, whereupon Silvana comes back because she forgot the safe open, catches El Tobji red-handed and takes a paper from those he printed in order to know the truth.

Salah is expelled from the house where he stays with a member of the Muslim Brotherhood due to a dispute over slogans. Aida decides to attend a Greek wedding, in which Rina is participating.

Bishr spends his night with Aida in a cafe in Zezenia, and learns that his dad wants to marry Ikram off. People futilely try to return Khamis to the agency. Morshidi learns that his dad will sign the agency over to him if Khamis doesn’t back down. Amer talks to Rifai about marrying Ikram. Aida visits Abdel Fattah.

Silvana becomes suspicious of El Tobji's activities, especially when she sees him with Fathi, who tries to find Salah and turns to Aida to find out where he is, while Bishr gets the blame from his uncle De Lorenzi.

Mohamed visits Naima in her café to ask about Salah’s whereabouts. As Fathi takes a walk with Rina on the seashore, Naima expresses her objection to this relationship, despite being friendly with Rina's brother, since they’re neighbors.

Vasiliadis decides to propose to Rina. As Bishr discovers that Salah is hiding at Badia Asfour’s, El Tobji decides to move him to another place so he wouldn’t tell Aida. Bayada's father refuses to wed her to Rifai, even though she loves him. Khamis divorces his wife and tries to win Bayada for himself.

Richard and Hazan offer to make Rifai their partner. Bayada's father decides to wed her to Khamis, despite her objection. Abdel Fattah visits Bishr to bemoan his passionate love. The poet Ilhami breaks up with Aida.

As Mostafa Bagato tells Bishr that he’s about to marry Aida, Bishr confronts them with each other, and she admits that she said that in order to evade him. Bishr reveals to Aida where Salah is, so El Tobji gets angry and decides to cooperate with Abu Doma to teach Bishr a lesson. Abdel Fattah is arrested.

Bishr decides to visit Abdel Fattah in jail and discovers that Mohamed Badran is the one who reported him. As Bishr asks Aida to intervene, she, in turn, asks Mohamed Badran, and when they release him he flees from the police.

Bayada tells Amna that she doesn’t want to marry Khamis, so Amna claims that Khamis and Bayada are foster siblings. When Bayada’s father sees her talking with Rifai from the balcony, he beats her and prevents her from going out, and her marriage to Khamis becomes a fait accompli.

Todari objects to Rina's dating Fathi. Bishr asks his father to intercede with Mohamed Badran to lift the siege on Zananiri. Salah and Fathi hide because the British are looking for them.

Bishr mediates with De Lorenzi to solve the Zananiri crisis. As El Tobji and his group try to find something that can be done about the British in Zananiri, Abdel Fattah proposes that they lure their leader in.

De Lorenzi asks his influential friends from the foreign communities to issue a joint statement condemning what is happening in Zananiri. Bishr asks El Tobji to organize a large demonstration. As Salah professes his feelings for Aida, she feels confused.

Bayada runs away so as not to marry Khamis and takes shelter in El Shennawi’s house. As a group of British soldiers try to harass Aida, Bishr shoots and injures one of them.

De Lorenzi solves Silvana's problem with her brothers-in-law. After three days of searching, Master Ashour El Sammak finds his daughter at El Shennawi’s, and decides to wed her to Khamis the next day. As El Shennawi refuses to perform at the wedding, Ashour threatens him with the trust receipts.

Rifai proposes to Mahrousa, who agrees. As De Lorenzi holds a masquerade in his palace, the countess comes, and he invites her on a tour all over Egypt. As Khamis and Bayada’s wedding takes place, Rifai dances at the party after Bishr, whereupon an unknown person shoots Rifai.

Bishr and Amna fall out over the revelation of his new girlfriend. A policeman asks Bishr why his name was mentioned with El Tobji’s in the Zananiri case; also his uncle De Lorenzi asks him about the same thing, and requests his help in getting a senior British officer released.

Bishr asks El Tobji to release the British officers who have been detained since the Zananiri demonstration. After much deliberation, El Tobji tells him that he’s ready to release them in return for a thousand pounds each. Fathi asks his father to ask for Rina's hand.

As Francesca asks Bishr about the money he took from the safe, he tells her that his uncle knows he took it. Rifai inaugurates the new agency, and Richard and Hazan offer to sell him their car. Bayda goes out without Khamis's permission, which enrages him. Amna catches Amer with his new wife, Emtithal.

Badran tells Bishr that it’s difficult for him to be the Wafd Party’s candidate as he’s half-Italian, but De Lorenzi tells Bishr that his mother has Egyptian citizenship. Khamis tries in vain to appease Bayada. As Bishr goes to El Tobji’s meeting, Salah tells him that he came to spy on them, so he slaps him.

Aida tells Naima that she wants to help her in her fight against the British. Aida mingles with the people of the street. As she encounters Sheikh Abdel Fattah, Ilhami angrily leaves. Rifai tells Abdel Fattah that his wedding is next Thursday.

Rifai, Bayada, and El Shennawi learn that Khamis is the one behind the murder attempt. As Rifai and Mahrousa’s wedding is held, Bayada grieves. As Fathi learns that Rina traveled with Vasiliadis, he feels sad that she left him. Silvana reveals to El Tobji that she’s aware of his patriotic activities.

Silvana is shocked when she learns that De Lorenzi wants her to accompany the countess across Egypt. As Amer falls ill, all his children visit him, and he tells them to treat his new wife well. Mohamed Badran realizes that his situation is critical due to what Mostafa El-Nahas did after the February 2 incident.

Rifai offers El Shennawi to work with him. Aziza, Amna’s relative, comes to live with them in the big house. The policeman warns Bishr that he has been under surveillance since the release of the two officers from the Zananiri incident, and Bishr decides to warn the Zananiri cell.

Abdel Fattah Dergham goes to Bishr's house as he can't face Aida, in whose house everyone discusses politics. Salah and Bishr make up, while Aida declares her love to Bishr.

When De Lorenzi proposes to the countess, she turns him down as she’s already in love. As the police decide to set a trap for the Zananiri group, the campaign succeeds, and Salah and Naima are arrested.

Bishr declares his love to Aida. De Lorenzi decides to travel suddenly, and only informs Bishr and his sister, whereupon De Lorenzi proposes to Silvana. Aida decides to provide Abu Laila's group with money for weapons.

Rina tells Fathi that she has to marry Vasiliadis, which angers him. Abdel Fattah's ex-wife returns to leave him their children as she’ll marry. Bishr tells Aida that he’s thinking about marriage. After Francesca's objection to her brother's marriage, she decides to patch things up with him.

Hilal decides to ask Ikram to marry him. Khamis quarrels with Bayada for going out with her aunt's husband, but she answers him viciously. Rifai receives news that his wife Mahrousa’s pregnant.

After Mahrousa’s pregnancy, Bayada asks Khamis to make sure he can have kids, so he beats her. Bishr sees Aida with Abu Laila, and realizes that she's making him jealous, so he leaves her, and she agrees to marry Abu Laila. Todari visits Naima and tells her that Fathi answered Rina's letters rudely.

Aida decisively agrees to marry Adel Abu Laila, and invites Bishr to her wedding, so he decides to compliment her with an Alexandrian wedding procession with El Shennawi and Badia Asfour.

With WWII ending, Bishr becomes estranged from his mother due to her wish to marry Naseem. Aida suffers in her life with Adel. Bishr receives the Bey title. After Mahrousa gives birth, Khamis changes, as he spends most of his time absent-minded.

Azzouz receives a letter from his Palestinian wife at last. Aida visits the people of Zananiri, and learns that her husband isn’t an engineer and that he’s a swindler and an ex-convict, upon which she leaves in a terrible state. Richard and Hazan return after a long journey.
