Jaber tries to get his stolen land back from mayor Abu Seif (Seif's father), while Shouq suggests Saber rents his father's land and Jaber approves.
Shouq wants Saber to marry her, and Saber seriously considers leaving his first wife, Zeinab. On the night of Saber's wedding to Shouq, Zeinab gives birth, and heavy-hearted, she leaves her baby and flees the town.
Hassan takes the baby in and raises him like a son. Abdel Mejid's grandmother stands in the way of him marrying Lawahez. Shouq gets pregnant with Saber's baby. Jaber asks his son to steal Shouq's seal to sell it and get the money they need.
Sekina names the baby Elwan, and as years pass by, Elwan grows up, and Abu Seif suggests to Saber to wed him to his daughter Fawziya. Jaber is shocked that Saber decided not to claim the family's rights from the mayor and he got closer to him instead.
Hosniya passes away, and Sekina is desperate for a baby. Shouq learns that Saber intends to marry Fawziya.
Shouq writes her land over to her son Khalil. Jaber suggests Shouq give him the seal, and in exchange, he'll dissuade Saber from marrying Fawziya. Shofqat sides with the farmers in clear opposition to his father's tyranny.
Abu As'ad (As'ad's father) suggests he and Saber join forces against Jaber. Shouq learns that Saber took the seal away, and Saber gets ready for his marriage to Fawziya.
Shouq finds the seal and gives it to Jaber, and an enraged Saber gets in a coma. Shofqat marries Jannat.
Shouq blames Jaber for what happened to Saber and asks him to honor his promise and give her the land, which he refuses. Jaber, meanwhile, gets closer to Lawahez.
Saber dies, and Jaber decides to marry Fawziya and refuses to give the house away to Shouq as he decides to take the matter to court.
Shouq resorts to the law to preserve her rights. Jaber marries Fawziya, and Lawahez marries an elderly man for his money.
Shalqan is arrested for setting fire to Jaber's cotton harvest. Fawziya gives birth to Jaber's baby.
Years pass by, and Jaber gets old while Elwan becomes a fine young man. Jaber accuses Elwan of stealing his livestock and has him tortured. Khalil lives the life of a nomadic outlaw.
Qassem attends a religious commemoration ceremony (mawlid) where he meets Dawlat and falls for her. Jaber bargains with Lawahez to buy her land. Jaber clashes with Abu Seif who wants to set up a coffee shop.
Lawahez refuses to give Shawkat the estate. Jabriya convinces Lawahez to marry Jaber. Abu Seif decides to help Khalil get his land back.
Hassan encourages Qassem to claim his rights and marry Dawlat. Jaber proposes to Dawlat. Abu Seif tells Khalil the truth about his land.
Khalil learns that his mother is still alive and she owns the land. Abu Seif plots to utilize Khalil to get rid of Jaber. Dawlat asks Qassem to get his father to lift the siege on Abu Seif's house.
Dawlat resists Jaber's tyranny by accepting to marry Khalil. Khalil attacks Eissawy's land in an attempt to seize it. Fawziya heads to Jaber to ask him to end the siege and give the land back to Khalil.
Jaber has Khalil kidnapped and Qassem searches for him. Elwan asks Jaber to help him marry Mabrouka. Jaber vows revenge on Lawahez and ruins her land.
Lawahez marries Shawkat. Mabouka refuses to elope with Elwan. Elwan suggests getting rid of Qassem to get his land back.
Jaber throws Fawziya out when he finds her love letters to Shawkat. Qassem is murdered and Khalil is accused of the crime. Jaber becomes without an heir.
