As Raghda returns from abroad, to her parents delight, Wisal tries to convince her to marry. Wahid's mother suffers from a terrible mental condition that verges on madness, while his brother decides to leave town. Dr. Khalil becomes angry with Dr. Saleh's controlling the hospital that he owns.

When Khalil travels with Wisal and Raghda to the village, he tries to seize the land. Karim thinks about going to the city. Wahid refuses to sell his land to Khalil and informs Raghda that her uncle caused his mother's insanity, after which his mother dies of her illness.

Wahid recalls Khalil causing his brother’s death and his mother’s madness 20 years ago, while Khalil apologizes to him and tries to help him, which he refuses. Raghda kicks out Wahid, who she believes is being unfair to her father. Wahid’s cousin Sawsan refuses to return to work for Khalil.

As Karim wants to sell the cow and the bull to travel to the city, Khalil uses the situation to seize the land. Dr. Saleh spends money on a new operating room and asks Khalil to double the price of operations; while Salem sells the olive crop behind Khalil’s back and gives money to his sister Wisal.

As Khalil asks Abu Karim (Karim's father) for his land upon confirming his bankruptcy and threatens to imprison him, Wahid tries to pay off the debt. When Abu Karim dies in mysterious circumstances, Khalil is able to seize the land with Karim's approval.

Raghda finds herself drawn to Wahid, whom she seeks but doesn’t find. Nurse Nabila objects to Saleh’s way of treating patients. Wahid slaps Karim for running away. Khalil discovers Saleh’s cooking of the hospital’s books and fires him. Wahid objects to Khalil’s running for the municipal councils.

Raghda confronts her father with Wahid’s accusations, which she seems to be convinced of. Wahid's companions try to persuade him to enter the municipality elections, while Khalil forms an electoral list to run in the elections. Raghda asks Khalil to win Wahid over to his side.

As Wahid's colleagues abandon him and support Khalil in the election, he forms a front against Khalil with very few supporters. A disagreement occurs between Adel and Nadim and their parents for supporting Wahid. Abu Adel becomes head of the municipal council thanks to Wahid’s plan.

Wahid tells Khalil that his encroachment on people's lands, not just his mother’s madness, caused their dispute. Wisal gets angry at her brother Salem for being late and warns him of losing the money. As Khalil prevents Abu Adel from squeezing the olive crop and fights him, the latter threatens him.

As Raghda confronts her uncle with his stealing the land’s profit and his shady love affairs, she kicks him out and asks Wahid to take over the estate, which he refuses, so Raghda oversees the land. Khalil promises Abu Samah to appoint Samah to oversee his estate.

The peasants reject Samah’s bad treatment, and assault him after he assaulted them. Raghda tries to expel Samah from the land, but Khalil refuses. Adel thinks of leaving to the city. Omaima dies due to her husband Habib’s neglect. Atef escapes because of his father’s cruelty and his mother’s death.

As Raghda asks Maryam to deliver a letter to Wahid, she hides the letter, and fools her into thinking that she had an accident. Raghda turns against Wahid, thinking that he deliberately rebuffed her. The municipal council files a complaint against Khalil for seizing the village's lands.

Wahid rebukes Adel and Nadim for leaving the village. Wisal tries to find out why Raghda's mad at Maryam. Abu Adel father asks Abu Samah to tear down the wall of his house that impinges on the road. Khalil learns that Nabila’s sick with an incurable disease.

As Abu Samah asks Khalil to marry Samah to Raghda, he tells him that she’s engaged. Adel and Nadim discover how bad city life is, and that Karim lied. Wahid tells Raghda that he loves her but knows that she won’t leave her father's corrupt milieu. Wahid nurses Karim, who suffers from a lung disease.

As Khalil tries to buy the rest of the village’s lands for a large sum, Wahid objects and tries to prevent the townsfolk from selling, yet some sell their lands, except for Abu Adel and Wahid, who find out that Khalil is tricking them. When the townsfolk try to kill Khalil, Wahid stops them.

Heba refuses to marry Samah. Khalil gets Salem to oversee the land again. As the townsfolk get arrested for attempting to kill Khalil, Raghda testifies in their favor. Abu Nadim dies. Wahid passes his college exams. Khalil tries to curry favor with Wahid, as he realizes the gravity of his situation.

Wisal asks Raghda to persuade Wahid not to file a suit against her father, and proposes to Khalil to sign over his property to her and Raghda. As Khalil goes to prison, he looks for a way to return the lands to the townsfolk. Raghda objects to Salem's return.

Adel and Nadim open a bakery. As Khalil gets out of prison, Raghda asks him to go to the village and live with the townsfolk. Salem tells Wisal that he must kill Khalil so she could get his fortune. Some unknowns assualt Wahid. Wisal tells Raghda what Khalil has done to the Wahid family.

Maryam warns Raghda to stay away from Wahid to preserve her dignity, saying that she doesn’t like Jamal as she claims. A dispute arises between Karim and Abu Samah over the land’s cultivation. Khalil suddenly collapses and enters the ICU. Upon Wahid’s advice, Raghda signs over the estate to herself.

Wahid records Salem and Wisal’s plot to kill Khalil, who asks Raghda to take over the money and land by the power of attorney and asks to see Salem. Nadim ends his partnership with Adel after his sister refuses to marry him. As Khalil dies, Munir asks for the debt he owed him.

As Wahid asks Munir for proof of Khalil’s debt to him, or he won’t get anything, Munir threatens him. Raghda refuses to let Salem into the house, which angers Wisal. Heba agrees to marry Nadim, while Raghda refuses to marry Dr. Ghazi. Maryam threatens to expose Wisal if she insists on expelling her.

Munir and Salem's visits to the house anger Raghda, who asks her mother to divide the estate, and expels Salem from the village. Sawsan's condition worsens. Ghazi's wife tells him that Khalil was secretly married to Nabila, whose daughter Sawsan may be the one who's sick. Wisal marries Munir.

Wahid tries to find the place where Sawsan lived as a child. Munir threatens Wahid in case he doesn’t get Khalil’s money. Raghda decides to treat Sawsan abroad. Munir tries to frame Raghda and Wahid for the killing of Khalil.

Salem clashes with Wahid for insulting Wisal. Heba decides to marry Nadim immediately. Wahid presents a tape of Wisal and Salem’s plot to kill Khalil, and promises not to get them imprisoned if they drop the case. Munir goes to prison after Wisal and Salem confessed against him.

As Wisal admits her mistake and asks for Raghda’s forgiveness, she refuses. On Raghda's birthday, she learns that Sawsan is her half-sister on her father’s side. Adel yields his share of the bakery to Heba after she married Nadim. Wahid gets shot at and falls dead.
