Mufid's parents are annoyed by his abusive behavior and his causing problems. As Mufid refuses the French army's occupation of his village, he harasses them, and his father locks him up.

Mufid's mother tries to convince him to focus on his studies. Mufid cuts off Abboud's donkey's tail and the village chief punishes him by flogging his feet.

Shaaban expels Mufid from school because of his bad behavior and his father kicks him out of the house. Mufid turns to his uncle Ibrahim.

Mufid is imprisoned for five years, and after his release, he learns about the death of his uncle Ibrahim, so he turns to Abdush, who gives him a job at Mabrouk's bakery.

Mufid likes Labiba and she reciprocates the same feelings. Mahmoud harasses the maid, Labiba, and his brother Salem warns him. Both Mufid and Abdush beat a group of French officers for harassing a woman.

Salem decides to protect Labiba from his brother Mahmoud. As Salem helps Mufid and hides him in his house, he asks Mabrouk to provide him with a house to hide in, and Mufid stays with Afif so as not to get caught.

Mufid and his friend Abdush are imprisoned, and the French officer suspects that they are incited by some political activist.

Ahmed provides a job for Labiba after learning of Mufid's patriotism. The prisoners go on strike after they see rats in their food, after which they imprison the prison warden and beat him. Mufid and the perpetrators are transferred to a maximum security prison.

After Mufid is released, he starts working in fishing and searches for Labiba, but he doesn't find her. Labiba learns about Mufid's release, starts looking for him, and goes to his mother.

Bakri proposes to Mufid to go with him to Beirut to work in the restaurant and to marry his daughter Bahira, who tells Mufid that she loves another man.

Mufid decides to seize the goods of El Khityar (the old man) in the port, and he succeeds in that with the help of Abdush and Halish.

As El Khityar suspects that Sheikh Daher's men are the ones who stole his goods, he asks his men to search for the perpetrators in order to take revenge on them.

As Ahmed tells Labiba about his admiration for her, she tells him that she loves Mufid, who suspects that she has forgotten him, but the truth is otherwise.

Master Rida agrees to let Mufid work with him. The guard is killed by El Khityar Hamdi's men at the latter's request.

As El Khityar's men kill a group of men at the port, Mufid feels guilty because he is the thief. After Abdush learns Labiba's whereabouts, he brings her to see Mufid.

Mufid meets with Labiba and they get married, and Ahmed helps them. Mufid beats Hassoun after he insulted him.

Al Batahish's men attack the men of Master Rida, and Mufid is shot and imprisoned for two months.

Ahmed and Hassiba get engaged, and Mufid is released. Labiba warns Mufid of Al Batahish, and Mufid learns of his mother's death.

Ahmed and Hassiba's marriage is postponed, and Mufid becomes the shift leader at the request of Master Rida.

Adush loses his wife and son. As Labiba goes to the doctor after her pregnancy is delayed, she learns that Mufid is sterile, but she refuses to tell him. Al Batahish's men fail to kill Mufid, whom El Khityar asks to work with him, but he declines.

Master Rida warns Mufid of El Khityar. Mufid and Labiba move into a new house. Mufid is imprisoned for five years after he assaults Al Batahish and his men.

As Mufid learns that he is diabetic, he is released and he learns that Ahmed died in an accident with his wife and that his mother could not bear the shock and passed away. Mufid decides to start a new life with his wife.

After Mufid's foot is amputated, his psychological condition deteriorates, and Labiba tries to help him overcome his crisis.

Labiba's friend tells Mufid that Labiba refused to tell him that he could not have children. Mufid's second foot is amputated and his condition worsens.

Mufid asks Labiba to leave him, but she refuses. After Barhoum learns of what happened to Mufid, he visits him and helps him overcome his crisis.

Al Batahish decides to kill Mufid, but after seeing his situation, he walks away. Abu Al Abd brings to Mufid cigarettes smuggled from the port to sell.

The police officer takes Mufid's goods at the instigation of Al Zalqout. Mufid takes revenge on Al Zalqout and they die together.
