The Misbah family is happy when they learn of the return of their son Taher from abroad. Zanaty is angry when he finds out and recalls how his father was unfair in dividing his property and marrying Kamla to Misbah instead of him.

Taher returns and Ezzat wants to talk to him about his desire to marry Fotna, while the hard-line young man Asim gets acquainted with Hafsa and drags her to the path of extremism.

Taher quarrels with Ezzat and Fotna after discovering their relationship and breaks down in grief. Zanaty plans to marry Atef to Fotna.

Kamla beats Fotna after finding out about her relationship with Ezzat but Taher interferes and supports his sister. Mehrez and his son Ezzat ask for Fotna's hand in marriage, while Asim finds out about Hafsa's father's wealth.

Zanaty decides to talk to Misbah about the marriage proposal. Misbah accepts Mahrez’s request and asks Mahrez and his son to return to his home.

After Zanaty learns of Ezzat and Fotna's engagement, he quarrels with Misbah, insults Ezzat and his father. When Misbah stands up to him, he decides to disown him. Taher travels to Cairo.

Taher returns to teaching at the university and discovers about the incident of Asim destroying statues at the university, which he denies. Taher decides to help him.

Zanaty sends Mukhaimer to bring him the criminal Abadi. Taher tries to get through to Asim and his hard-core companions. Asim gets angry when he feels that he is losing control of Hafsa.

Misbah's family travels with Ezzat to Cairo to buy Fotna's trousseau. Hafsa's family meets with Taher. Zanaty agrees with Abadi to kill Misbah, while Asim gets angry because of Hafsa's and Taher's closeness.

Hafsa admires Taher. Asim tries again to control Hafsa and rejects a suitor for his sister in favor of a hard-line young man who wants to get engaged to her. When she refuses, he beats her but her mother assures her that she will not be married off against her will.

Abadi accidentally kills Misbah's assistant while trying to kill Misbah. He receives more money from Zanaty. Kamla suspects that Zanaty is behind what happened.

Atef steals Zanaty's weapon and offers to protect Misbah, but he refuses. Sou'ad, Asim's sister, gets engaged to the one she wants behind Asim's back. Asim continues to attend the militant terrorist group’s sessions.

Taher visits Hafsa's house and admires her parents. A friend of Asim's carries out a terrorist attack, after which Asim, Hafsa, and Taher are arrested. The dean of the faculty stands with Taher and defends him as Taher's family arrives in Cairo.

Kamla feels that Zanaty is gloating. After a long investigation, Taher and Hafsa are released. Hafsa grieves over her belief that Taher loves Fotna.

Misbah throws a party at his home, and Abadi worries Zanaty after attending the party. It's decided that Fotna and Ezzat are to be married. Hafsa faces the ridicule of her university classmates.

Misbah invites Zanaty to Fotna's wedding, which grieves Atef. Zanaty orders Abadi to kill Misbah before the wedding.

Wedding preparations start while Misbah goes to attend the wedding of a villager. When he is late, Kamla gets worried about him.

Abadi kills Misbah and his family breaks down in grief. The family don't name any suspects, so the funeral takes place.

Sou'ad marries her sweetheart while Asim is in prison. The villagers are angry because Taher refuses to avenge his father’s death.

Kamla promises the villagers that she will avenge Misbah. Zanaty begins to interfere in the affairs of Misbah's lands. Taher intervenes to solve a problem that occurred because of him, then travels to Cairo.

Atef buys a gun in order to take revenge for his uncle and asks Kamla to tell him whom she suspects to have killed Misbah, but she refuses his request and informs Fotna about her suspicions of Zanaty. The news reaches Taher.

Zanaty warns Atef to stay away from the matter of avenging Misbah and takes the gun from him. Zanaty asks Mukhaimer to bring Hamdan, Abadi's friend, to him. Asim finds out about Sou'ad's marriage.

Taher tries to intervene to help Asim. Zanaty asks Hamdan to kill Abadi in exchange for money. Mukhaimer tries to find out what Zanaty wanted from Hamdan.

Hamdan kills Abadi while Kamla tells Mahrez of her desire to avenge Misbah. Taher visits Zuhdi.

Taher asks Zuhdi to help him defend Asim and his friend. Zanaty threatens Kamla to seize Misbah’s property and wed Atef to Fotna. When she tells him that she is onto him, he threatens to harm Taher.

Asim believes that Hafsa is the one who is trying to get him out of jail. Kamla is crippled by her fear for her children. Atef is pleased with his father's attempts to wed him to Fotna. Zanaty tries to get close to Kamla.

Taher arrives in Upper Egypt as Zanaty makes Hamdan set fire to Mahrez’s farm. Kamla helps them in the aftermath.

Zanaty asks Mahrez and his son to leave the village, otherwise he will harm them and Misbah's family as well. Taher is surprised by Kamla's approval of Moataz's travel and calling off his engagement to Fotna.

Taher is surprised that Kamla wants to let Zanaty run Misbah's land. Zanaty tells Kamla that he will not rest till he has her to himself. Atef marries Fotna.

Mahrez and Ezzat leave the village. Kamla fails to kill Zanaty, who warns her against trying again. Atef is shocked when he discovers that his father wants to marry Kamla.

Kamla resorts to a charlatan to keep Zanaty away from her. Hafsa surprises Taher with her engagement. Zanaty causes problems with the workers at Misbah's land and Taher wonders why Kamla isn't doing anything.

Zanaty fakes an attempt to kill Taher in order to force Kamla to marry him. After accepting his offer, Taher travels with Fotna to Cairo.

Fotna reconciles Hafsa and Taher. Taher discovers the truth about what Zanaty did to his father and Kamla. He returns to rescue his mother from him, but Kamla shoots Zanaty, who refuses to report her to the police before he dies.
