Khamas and Saeed look forward to buying Saeeda's house after her death. Nasib arrives in the village of El Asha to receive his inheritence, spoiling Khamas and Saeed's plan to buy the house.
Khamas agrees with Saeed to deceive Nasib by seizing the house of his relative, Saeeda, and giving him another house to live in.
Khamas tries to persuade Nasib to return to his town, but the latter tells him that he is looking for work. Nasib forces his wife to sell fish in the market.
Suhail quarrels with Obaid because the two want to marry Adhija. Sheikha discovers that Khamas has deceived Nasib, giving him a house other than Saeeda's. Saif asks Saeed to help him marry Hessa.
As the police arrest Suhail and Obaid, Hassan mediates for them and collects the bail to get them out, while Saeed offers Nasib to work for him in the shop, but he refuses.
When Obaid and Suhail mock the English officer, they get arrested, and Nasib tries to mediate for them. As the latter's wife falls ill, he neglects her, so her condition worsens and he’s forced to search for a cure for her.
Nasib tells the townspeople that its sheikh is giving handouts, so they go there, but the guard prevents them, so Nasib and Abbas are forced to disguise themselves as women to meet the sheikh, but they are exposed. Nasib asks Khamas for his daughter's hand for Kend.
Suhail asks Mhaimad to mediate for him to ask for Adhija’s hand. Khamas and Saeed propose that Nasib marry Dima, whom Nasib discovers is the wife of Bouafra, whereupon the latter locks him up and Nasib’s son searches for him.
Nasib borrows a car from the town's sheikh, knocking houses down as he drives; meanwhile, Kend asks his neighbor to intercede for him with Abbas to ask for his daughter Moza's hand in marriage.
Nasib uses the car to transport people in the neighborhood, as well as to deliver their orders in exchange for money. Khamas rejects the idea of his daughter marrying Nasib’s son.
The car key is taken from Nasib after Bouafra causes it to break down. Kend's wife gets upset as he wants to take another wife.
Khamas agrees with Suhail and Obaid to help him sell houses in exchange for a sum of money. Nasib buys a new radio as he makes good money from his work with the English officer.
Suhail and Obaid agree with Kend to buy a house. Sheikha is forced to stay in Khamas’s house after she quarrels with her husband, Nasib.
Nasib discovers that Khamas has deceived him by giving him a house other than that of his relative Saeeda, and turns to the police. Nasib develops a disease in his eyes that makes him accompany the blind Suhail and Obaid all the time.
Nasib agrees with his son to dye the goats' hair in order to sell them. Muftah tells Saeed and Khamas that the sheikh took it upon himself to help the neighborhood children learn to read and write, assigning that matter to Samir.
Teacher Samir begins the first day of school, where Nasib’s son and Abbas's daughter join the class. Muftah agrees to compensate Nasib for his house.
Bouafra objects to Samir’s teaching the girls in the classroom, and insists on teaching in his place. As Samir falls ill, Nasib brings him medicine from Abbas. Obaid marries Adhija.
Everyone visits Samir to check on him. Samir accuses Nasib of causing his illness. Khamas decides to collect money to pay off Obaid’s debt to Bouafra. Nasser visits Nasib and offers him his goods to buy.
Nasib thinks of selling his donkey in order to buy Nasser's goods. Abbas's wife suggests to her husband that he meet Nasser to travel to Kuwait. Bu Saleh keeps looking for the missing rooster.
Nasib’s son tries to buy Samir's pants for his father, but the latter refuses. Nasib asks Khamas to put the goods in his shop, while Adhija asks Suhail to look for work.
As the town is flooded with heavy rain, many of the people suffer losses in their businesses, and the roof of Obaid's house collapses. Nasib asks Muftah to mediate for them with the sheikh to help them. Bouafra shoots at Samir, so the latter decides to leave the country and return to Egypt.
Bu Saleh hands out money to the affected people, so Bouafra asks him for his share, or else he will file a complaint with the sheikhs. Suleiman visits Nasib, asks to work with him, and stays with Samir in his house.
Saeed evades Suleiman, who tells Samir that he’s returned to town in order to get his shop back from Saeed. Khamas and Saeed worry about Muftah's knowing about the shop matter.
As Saeed hides at Suhail’s, Muftah learns of the matter and gives money to Suleiman. Mhaimad rules that Saeed must pay compensation to Suleiman.
Khamas tries to convince Nasib to let Saeed work with him after he loses the shop. Nasib suggests that his wife work in washing clothes so that they can make big profits. Abbas is piqued by Nasib's work in selling medicine.
Saif tells Nasib that he wants to marry Abbas's daughter. Khamas tries to reconcile Bouafra and Nasib, who have fallen out on account of Saeed.
Nasib leaves the shop to Saeed as he travels with his wife to make a pilgrimage, and asks Abbas that his son, Saif, stays in his house until he returns from travel.
Saeed asks the teacher, Samir, to attend the class with his son. As Muftah hires a new teacher in town, Khamas quarrels with him.
When Nasib returns from the trip, he’s surprised to find the new teacher, Ziyad, living in his house, so he rages at him, while Mhaimad reproaches Khamas for letting Ziyad stay in Nasib's house.
Nasib sells the sand to the people, deceives Saeed and Khamas, and sells his house, whereupon everyone is surprised by his departure from the town.
