Saad tells his friend Saleh that his uncle insists on him marrying his daughter, Latifa. Mansour's wife incites her husband to take his brother's inheritance to prevent him from getting married and leaving his money to someone else.
Saleh tells Saad about his childhood and his abusive mother-in-law. Umm Mansour (Mansour's mother) refuses to approve her son Sultan's marriage to the divorcee Hanaa. Saleh quarrels with Mansour over his neglect and abuse of his son.
Motlaq tells his daughter Latifa that Abu Khaled (Khaled's father) will take his wife to a psychologist. Sultan's mother agrees to let Sultan marry Hanaa. Awaad implicates Jamil in a car robbery. Luluah remembers how she murdered her first husband when he tried to steal her gold.
Saleh admonishes Awaad for staying out late and working as a singer. Umm Khaled tries to convince her son to marry Latifa. Sultan quarrels with Mansour as the latter's wife claims to Hanaa that Sultan got engaged to her sister. The doctor tells Motlaq that he has cancer.
In the wake of his cancer diagnosis, Motlaq worries for his daughter, Latifa, leaving him to ask Saad to marry her. Sultan marries Luluah.
Jamil and Awaad agree to hold concerts and try to get in touch with a concert promoter. Abu Khaled informs his wife that Latifa got engaged to her cousin, Saad.
Umm Khaled recounts her story with her ex-husband Rashid to Latifa, telling her of how he took another wife and claimed that her youngest son, Saleh, has died to take the boy from her.
Saleh talks to Saad about helping him to marry Latifa. As Saad and Latifa get married, Saleh meets his brother Khaled but the two remain ignorant of their brotherhood. Awaad decides to expose Jamil's corruption.
Abu Khaled recounts Luluah's story to Motlaq, informing him that she has a son called Saleh whom she found out is still alive. Awaad is shocked when the police put him under surveillance as they look for the drug dealer Youssef.
The principal, Mr. Abdel Rahman, is upset that the concert that Saleh held was a failure. As Saleh gets ill and goes to the hospital, Dr. Sultan tries to help him with his psychological crisis.
As Saleh gets paralyzed, the doctor tells Saad that it's psychosomatic and he will be better when he gets over his psychological condition. The police look for Abu Rokba, the leader of the drug gang.
In an attempt to locate the gang leader, the police transfer Rashed to the hospital to get treatment for his addiction. Saleh continues his psychological treatment.
Abdel Salam tells Dr. Sultan about how he raised Saleh after the latter's father abandoned him. Umm Faysal encourages her husband, Mansour, to sell the land, give Noura some money, and seize the rest, but Noura refuses the suggesttion.
Motlaq falls ill and passes out. Mansour's father discovers that his son wants to sell his land.
Saleh tells Noura about what his stepmother did to him and how she tortured him as a child. Khaled discovers that he has a brother called Saleh.
Luluah continues to struggle with the fact that she knows nothing about her son Saleh. Sultan asks his father for money to open a clinic. As Saleh starts a new treatment, he manages to move his foot.
Saleh goes back to school after he recovers. The police make a deal with Rashed to bring Abu Rokba down. On his death bed, Rashid tells Abdel Salam he wants to see his son Saleh.
Saleh asks for Noura's hand in marriage. Abdel Salam decides to tell Dr. Sultan that Rashid wants to see Saleh.
Saleh becomes famous after he publishes his novel. Abdel Wahab tells Saleh about his mother's whereabouts, leading to a meeting between the two after years apart. Saleh visits his father Rashid, who passes away after Saleh forgives him.
