When Umm Jamalat kicks Suleiman El Daba' out of the apartment for not paying the rent, Suleiman turns to Master Taha (Nima's father) and deceives him by telling him that the house in which he was living collapsed, whereupon Taha asks Suleiman to work for him in the wood trade.
When Lahma sees Suleiman selling wood to traders without Taha's knowledge and cheating him, he goes to tell Taha, but Suleiman warns Lahma not to talk about the matter and convinces him to work for him.
Lahma suffers a traffic accident and dies. Suleiman presents a gift to Nima, Taha's daughter, and tells her that he loves her. Taha dies.
Suleiman learns that Master Khawas asked about him in the bank where he deposits his money, so he goes to talk to him. Suleiman agrees with Khawas to give him a sum of money in exchange for staying away from him. The family's lawyer tells Suleiman that Taha wrote all his property in his wife Kawthar's name.
Khawas decides to take revenge on Suleiman after he had him imprisoned. Zeinhom tries to defraud Suleiman, but the latter notices and uncovers the trick. Khairi confesses his love for Nima, but she rejects him.
Suleiman meets Nima and asks her to go on with her life without him, and she collapses. Kawthar asks Suleiman to be Nima's proxy in the marriage, and Khairi marries Nima.
Suleiman repeatedly courts Kawthar in order to make her fall in love with him and asks to marry her, after which Suleiman and Kawthar tie the knot.
The officer summons Suleiman and asks him about his relationship with Zeinhom, but he denies knowing him. The officer tells Suleiman that Zeinhom died as a result of acute circulatory failure.
Kawthar yields up all her property to Suleiman El Daba', who helps Khawas to get out of prison and asks him to turn over a new leaf and work as his assistant.
When Suleiman goes to the hospital and meets Nima and her husband, Khairi, he quarrels with them, then tells them that he has divorced Kawthar, upon which Nima collapses in grief for her mother, then tells her husband Khairi that she is pregnant.
Suleiman tries to make Hind fall in love with him to marry her. Khawas loses his head after he learns that Suleiman decieved and betrayed him, then he decides to take revenge on him. The police arrest Khawas while trying to kill Suleiman.
Hind tells her father that she agrees to marry Suleiman. Nima gives birth to Khairi's baby girl. Suleiman marries Hind, who gives birth to a girl and a boy, whom Suleiman names Lubna and Sayed. The parents get older and the children grow up.
Suleiman gets angry with his son Sayed after he causes a big problem at work. Nima gets sick and her daughter Shatha goes to check on her in the hospital. Nima gets to know Amgad, Suleiman El Daba's son.
Shatha tells the story of Suleiman El Daba' to his son Amgad, who searches through his father's old files and photos to verify what Nima has said, and indeed he finds what confirms his suspicion.
As Awni searches for any evidence that incriminates Suleiman El Daba' and his son Sayed, he agrees with the secretary to present him with important papers and information related to Suleiman's company to entrap him. Amgad asks Nima not to blame him for his father Suleiman's guilt.
Amgad gets close to Shatha. Suleiman gets angry at his son Sayed after he learns that he wrote some girl and her mother a check for a large sum of money. Nima goes to Suleiman and asks him to take care of Amgad.
After Awni tells Suleiman that he will hand over his entire file to the Public Prosecutor, Suleiman decides to gather his children and flee with them to London before he gets arrested, but Amgad refuses to travel with his family and remains in Egypt.
The press publish the news of the escape of Suleiman El Daba' and his family abroad. Azzam is mad at Shatha because of her desperate defense of Amgad. The prosecution summons Amgad to interrogate him about his father's escape.
After Awni incites his men to kidnap Amgad, Awni asks Amgad about his father's location in London and any information he knows about his father's work, but Amgad tells him that he does not know where he is.
Amgad wakes up from the coma. Sayed becomes an addict and turns to Lord Jamil to give him a dose of heroin, and Lord Jamil asks Sayed to marry his sister Lubna.
Lord Jamil makes a big deal with Suleiman El Daba', and he asks Sayed to give him the papers and contracts of the deal in exchange for giving him a large dose of heroin. Sayed confesses to his mother his addiction.
Jamil calls his lover Lubna and tells her about her father's work with the Mafia and asks to marry her, but Suleiman refuses to wed Lubna to Jamil, while Lubna agrees.
Jamil marries Lubna and her father gets angry with her, but Lubna tells her father that she married Jamil to protect him from going to prison and gives him the papers she took from her husband.
Shatha confesses to her mother that she is in love with Amgad. George tells his client Suleiman that the property he built violates the building code, whereupon Suleiman freaks out.
Suleiman learns from Hind about Amgad's addiction. A mafia man shoots and kills Sayed, upon which Suleiman grieves for Sayed and asks his wife and daughter Lubna to forgive him.
Suleiman El Daba' becomes paralyzed after learning that Lubna left the house and that his men betrayed him, after which he confesses to his daughter all his sins and what he did in order to get where he is and then passes away.
