Soraya refuses to allow her son Riad to marry Nabila. Her ex-husband Youssef advises her not to stand in Riad's way, as Riad insists on marrying Nabila. Hossam fights with Soraya after his sister Manal stays out late. Youssef is introduced to his new colleague, Magda

As Soraya approves Riad's marriage, she quarrels with Youssef and tells him to stay away from their children. When Riad is sad that his siblings are neglecting their relationship with their father, Soraya tells him that she still loves Youssef. Salwa, Magda's daughter, impresses Youssef.

Ali proposes to Soraya. Nabila and Riad get married and go on their honeymoon. Youssef proposes to Magda. Soraya is upset when she learns that Youssef intends to get married.

As Soraya falls ill, Riad and Nabila return home, only for Soraya to start mistreating Nabila. Magda accepts Youssef's proposal, and Soraya accepts Ali's when she finds out. Manal tries to get close to Nabila's brother Ahmed but he is not responsive.

Soraya quarrels with her children when they oppose her marriage, and Manal seeks Ahmed out when she finds out. Ali and Soraya get married. Nabila grows closer to Manal and Hossam after Soraya leaves the house.

A now pregnant Nabila reconciles Manal and Hossam when they fight. Youssef and Magda get married, much to Soraya's sorrow. She reconciles with her children.

As Soraya grows suspicious of Ali, she decides to have him watched. A child called Ayman goes to Soraya's house and claims he is Riad's son, only for the family to discover that Riad has been financially supporting him after his father's death.

Nabila has twin girls. Ali plots to seize Soraya's properties. Salwa goes to college. After a fight between Ali and Soraya, she stabs him then gives him money in exchange for not reporting her and divorcing her. Nabila gets pregnant again.

When Youssef tells Manal that her mother wouldn't allow him to see them as children, Soraya fights with Youssef and he kicks her out. After a big fight with Soraya, Riad goes to follow up on a delivery, only to get into an accident.

The family is devastated when Riad dies. Soraya is consumed by guilt over her last fight with Riad. Hossam turns over a new leaf in life and starts paying attention to his education. When he meets Salwa, he starts to develop feelings for her. Soraya starts treating Nabila well.

Nabila has a boy that she names Riad. When Youssef invites her and the children to his house, Soraya gets mad and takes it out on Nabila. As she begins to fear that Nabila might get remarried, she starts mistreating her again. The playboy Bassem catches Manal's eye.

As Hossam confesses his love for Salwa, Soraya decides to make him marry Nabila to prevent her from remarrying and taking the children. Salwa's uncles make a fuss over Magda's marriage. Manal tells Bassem that she wants to meet him outside the college campus.

Soraya threatens to cut Hossam off if he doesn't marry Nabila, which means he won't be able to finish his education. Hossam initially refuses but after a summer of working at the workshop, he agrees to marry Nabila when the new semester starts.

Soraya threatens to kick Nabila out if she doesn't marry Hossam. Salwa is devastated to learn that Hossam agreed to Soraya's demands. As Nabila and Hossam get married, they agree to have a legal but not a physical relationship. Manal falls for Bassem after he tells her about his wealthy family.

Hossam confides in Salwa about the nature of his relationship with Nabila. When Nabila falls ill, Soraya mistakenly believes that she is pregnant but Nabila proves otherwise. Salwa's grandfather sues Magda for her custody.

Nabila finds out about Hossam and Salwa. Ahmed discovers that Manal and Bassem are seeing each other and warns her off. Bassem proves to his friend Adel how malleable Manal is with him. Soraya purposely insults Nabila in front of Manal's friend.

When Manal goes to Alexandria with Bassem, Youssef accuses Soraya of spoiling her. Bassem and Manal have a customary marriage with no legal recognition. Salwa goes to her grandfather and uncle to get them to drop the lawsuit.

When Hossam sees Manal with Bassem, she threatens to tell Soraya about his own relationship with Salwa. Hossam informs Magda of the nature of his marriage to Nabila. Bassem alleges that his father is trying to make him marry his cousin.

Bassem alleges that he fought with his father over his desire to marry Manal, and that his father kicked him out. When Manal is late returning home, she and Hossam quarrel but Soraya tells Hossam to stay out of Manal's life.

When Hossam discovers that Manal is lying about her whereabouts, she confesses that she is seeing someone. When Hossam asks to meet him, Bassem refuses and fakes a trip abroad. Adel grows suspicious of Bassem after Manal questions him about the trip.

As Hossam prepares to marry Salwa and travel abroad to complete his studies, Nabila asks him not to divorce her to protect her from Soraya. Adel advises Manal to stay away from Bassem. Bassem rejects a groom asking for his sister Hoda's hand due to financial difficulties.

When Manal learns she is pregnant, she confides in her friend Soha. Hossam reveals that Bassem has been lying to her. An acquaintance of Hoda's convinces her to work as an escort for money.

Bassem beats Manal and orders her to get an abortion. When she blacks out, he steals their marriage papers from her purse. Hoda meets up with Nader, mistakenly believing that he wants to marry her. Hossam and Salwa get married.

Manal can not go through with the abortion. After Bassem refuses to legalize their marriage, Manal asks for Youssef's help. Nader sexually assaults Hoda and gives her money. Hossam reveals his marriage to Salwa in a letter.

Youssef threatens Bassem. Nabila consults with Ahmed after learning the truth. Soraya has a stroke when she learns that Manal is pregnant. Manal discovers that the marriage papers are missing.

Nabila steps up to take care of Soraya and the bussiness. Ahmed and Manal grow closer as he tries to help. Bassem fakes a trip as Youssef threatens Adel.

When Manal collapses after learning of Bassem's departure, she loses the baby. Manal goes to live with Youssef. Ahmed informs Adel that Manal's family wants Bassem to marry her legally then divorce her.

Salwa finds out that she is pregnant, and Magda wants her to come home for the delivery. Bassem sends Manal a letter via Adel, asking for money in exchange for marrying her. Bassem returns home to find Ahmed there.

Bassem and Manal are legally married. Ahmed gives Bassem money after he divorces Manal but accuses Bassem of theft afterwards, getting him arrested. Ali begs for Soraya's forgiveness and restores what he took from her.

Bassem returns home, only to clash with Hoda. Salwa gives birth to a boy, and returns to Egypt with Hossam and the baby. Manal starts to fall for Ahmed. A business man called Maher meets Nabila and starts to develop feelings for her.

Hossam learns about everything that went down in his absence. Soraya discovers the truth about Hossam and Nabila's marriage. Nabila asks Hossam for a divorce. Hoda runs away from home.

Maher proposes to Nabila but she refuses. Salwa visits Soraya with her son and informs her of who she is. Ahmed and Soha get engaged, much to Manal's sorrow. The family comes together as Soraya apologies to them for what she put them through.
