A hip-hop dance competition in New York City, turns into a high-stakes confrontation that could change the life course of the contestants.
This title is a 3D dance film that was directed by Jon Chu. The film is the third installment in the “Step Up” trilogy and the first to be shot in 3D. Following its premier in Hollywood on the 2nd of August, the film was released worldwide and has since received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Adam Sevani and Alyson Stoner maintain their roles from “Step Up 2” and are joined by Rick Malambri and Sharni Vinson among other talents. Moose and Camille are students at New York University. Moose is pursuing a major in electrical engineering and has promised his mother that he will no longer dance. However, he quickly reneges on that promise when he encounters Luke and the House of Pirates dance crew. Following a dance battle, Moose decides to join Luke’s dance crew in order to help them in their bid to win at the World Jam dance contest. Soon afterwards, Luke meets Natalie at a club and takes notice of her talent at dancing. Natalie then accepts Luke’s offer to join his crew. However, we also learn that Natalie is hiding something from Luke. The film gathers pace when it is revealed that Natalie is in fact the sister of Julian, Luke’s rival and the head of the House of Samurai dance crew. We also learn that Camille has feelings for Moose despite the fact that they seem to be drifting away from each other. Intriguing romantic plots and smooth dance moves combine to make this feature film a joy to watch.
