Upon his retirement, Anis is honored by his company. As he struggles with boredom in the wake of his retirement, he decides to turn his house into a motel to combat his loneliness.

As Amany graduates, she goes to Cairo looking for a job. Anis hires Khamis to guard the motel and clean it. When Amany seeks shelter in Anis's motel, he gladly lends a hand.

Anis and his people get arrested for opening a motel without a permit. As Anis comes to discover the difficulty of obtaining such a permit, the officer suggests that he works through the issue by renting the rooms in his house. Anis meets with Hazem who wants to rent a room.

Amany finally finds a job after ardent efforts. When Hazem tells Nagwa of his wish to be a playwright, she decides to get her family to help him. As Amany's mother passes away, Bahgat takes advantage of her grief to try and engage her in an affair.

Hazem and Nagwa have an unregistered marriage. A woman called Fardous arrives to look for her husband, Adel, who has gotten lost. Amany discovers that Bahgat has been scamming people using his company.

Nagwa tells her sister Somaya that she is in love with Hazem. But when she goes to visit him at Anis's house, Hazem evades her and tells her that he is going to divorce her. Amany informs her company's clients that Bahgat has scammed them.

Bahgat fires Amany from the company. Fardous takes out an ad to find her husband. Anis asks Hazem to help Fardous overcome her depression.

Amany goes to an interview with a corrupt lawyer who decides to hire her despite knowing that she is a naive villager. When Soliman goes to ask for Amany's hand, Hazem assaults him.

Amany asks for a period of time to mull over the decision to wed Soliman. Nagwa and Hazem's relationship improves after she sets up a meeting with a famous director. Fardous sees Adel in a truck but she fails in reaching him.

Amany's manager implicates her in illegal activities without her knowledge. Hazem meets with the director, Abdel Sattar, who harshly criticizes his play. Soliman helps Khamis after he gets kicked out of the motel. Anis decides to search for Adel.

Anis finds Adel and tries to convince him to go back to Fardous, but Adel flees from him. Anis encourages Amany to go out with Hazem and get close to him. Adel is arrested on charges of begging.

The police confirm that Adel is not a beggar and release him. Amany finds Adel, who returns to Fardous. Amany discovers her manager's deception.

Adel discovers that Fardous is terminally ill and that she has been looking for him to raise their son. Hazem visits the lawyer that Amany works for in an attempt to bring him down.

Hazem decides to divorce Nagwa despite her refusal. Fardous is devastated when Adel speaks about divorcing her. Meligy tries to buy Amany's silence with an apartment, but she refuses.

Meligy discovers that Hazem is monitoring him. Hazem manages to get a chance to showcase his plays. Hazem decides to wed Amany. Anis finds solace from his loneliness in raising Fardous's son.
