As Bu Saleh's family asks him to allow them to hold a birthday party for Saleh, he reluctantly agrees under pressure. But when Bu Saleh finds out that they are playing songs and letting men mingle with women freely, he kicks everyone out.

Bu Saleh is upset that his son and wife are making unimportant phone calls. When he discovers that his daughter Hessa gets a large phone bill since her husband Badr keeps making external phone calls, he decides to cut off the landline in his house.

When Saleh drives his father's car even though he doesn't have a license, he causes an accident for the neighbors and gets arrested, which leads his mother to yell at the neighbors. Bu Saleh admonishes her for mistreating their neighbors, only to discover that they dropped the charges.

When Umm Saleh (Saleh's mother) falls ill, she asks Bu Saleh to send her abroad for state-funded medical treatment, but he tells her that the decision is up to a medical committee that judges whether she needs to go abroad or not. Umm Saleh goes to stay with her brother, Abu Megbel.

When Hessa goes into labor, she gives birth to her first child. Bu Saleh resents his wife's demands to celebrate their daughter. When he sees congratulatory posts in the newspapers, he resents the fact that Hessa and Badr have lied about living in a villa.

When Saleh makes fun of his school teacher, he kicks him out and summons his father. Hessa asks her husband Badr to resolve the situation to avoid telling Bu Saleh about it, but when the latter finds out, he punishes his son.

Bu Saleh is upset with Hessa and her husband for lying about buying a villa. Hessa insists on hiring four maids to take care of her baby so that she could take maternity leave.

As Hessa moves into her father's house with her husband Badr, Umm Saleh asks her husband to mediate for his daughter to have an apartment in the government housing projects. When Bu Saleh refuses, she enlists the help of Abu Megbel.

As Hessa and Badr receive their new house, the former is shocked to discover that it's in a newly-urbanized region which lacks a lot of services, leaving her to quarrel with her husband Badr and demands another house.

Umm Saleh asks her husband to pay for Saleh to take additional classes to improve his school performance, only for Saleh to be expelled from school after he cheats on his exams.

Bu Saleh's family goes on a vacation. Saleh decides to enroll in a technical institute. Umm Saleh asks her husband to try and get Badr out of national service.

As Abu Megbal tells his sister that he sold their family home for a lot of money, he tries to convince Bu Saleh to stay in a hotel until they build a new house. Abu Megbel tries to get Saleh relieved from national service, but his efforts fail.
