Sayed surprises his wife Hayat by being appointed as the general secretary of the governor. The businessman Abu Al-Nur and Magdy ask Maysa, who works with Hayat, to get close to the general secretary and work with him. Abu Al-Nur introduces Maysa to Sayed at a party.
Sayed meets the businessman Magdy and Nabih Al-Gharabawy. As Hayat faces financial hardship, she's surprised by Maysa's offer to help her financially by giving her twenty thousand pounds.
Sayed surprises Hayat by buying a luxurious apartment, and he finds out about her connection with Maysa. Abu Al-Nur, Magdy, and Al-Gharabawy ask Hayat to forge a land title deed with an old date. When she threatens to inform the Attorney General, they reveal that Sayed is implicated with them.
Hayat quarrels with Sayed for taking bribes and returns to their old apartment. When her children go with her, she asks them to stand by their father and be with him. Sayed is busy partying with Magdy and Abu Al-Nur.
Sayed throws Maysa out when she tries to get close to him at his apartment. Sayed tells Hayat that he won't go back to a life of poverty. Hayat writes a letter of confession to the Attorney General, but tears it apart in the end. Her niece, Shaimaa, discovers the torn letter.
Hayat falls sick, and Shaimaa tells Muhammad about the letter Hayat wrote to the Attorney General. Sayed and Maysa get close to each other. Magdy tries to take advantage of his connection with Sayed to obtain a villa that he has no right to.
Hayat gets back to work, and throws Magdy out of her office. Magdy threatens Sayed in order to force Hayat to comply with his demands. Hayat is surprised by Sayed's visit to their old house.
Sayed fails to change Hayat's mind, and she refuses to go on a vacation with him and the children. Maysa agrees to marry Sayed in secret.
A man named Mansy frames Hayat for bribery by giving her a bag and claiming it's from Sayed. Hayat gets caught red-handed with documents that have her signature. Chancellor Hussein, who happens to be an old colleague, questions Hayat. Sayed finds out that Magdy is the mastermind behind this plot.
Hayat asks Rashad to find out which employee forged her signature. Shaimaa tries to raise money to defend Hayat. Muhammad leaves the house and lives in a hotel. Maysa wants to live in a villa with Sayed. Sayed is suspended from work.
Sayed helps Muhammad after he gets into a fight at the hotel. When Hussein calls Shukria, Hayat's colleague, for questioning, Magdy threatens Shukria to prevent her from revealing what happened during his previous meeting with Hayat.
Shukria refuses to tell Hussein about Magdy. When Sayed refuses to announce his marriage to Maysa, she threatens to expose him. Maysa tells Imane about her marriage to the latter's father. Hayat is released on bail.
Sayed finds out that his assistant Al-Fernawany is double-crossing him by working with Magdy. Magdy and Al-Fernawany agree with Sayed to help him prove Hayat's innocence in exchange for her cooperation with them.
Al-Fernawany stipulates that Hayat signs a forged contract to clear her name and to return to live in Sayed's new apartment. Maysa visits Hayat at the new apartment and congratulates her on her return. Sayed promises Imane that he will end his marriage to Maysa.
Sayed finds out that Maysa is pregnant, and she threatens him to announce their marriage. Hayat finds out that Rashad is the one who forged the contract that she was arrested for.
Hayat asks Sayed for an unofficial separation. Rashad is arrested and he confesses to plotting the forgery with Mansy in exchange for a sum of money. The press publishes the news about Hayat's innocence, and Muhammad returns home.
Rashad tells Hussein that Maysa is behind what happened to him before he commits suicide. Maysa confesses to Hussein that she is married to Sayed. Mansy is arrested. Muhammad and Shaimaa get engaged.
Hayat exposes Sayed and his partners for their crimes and provides the evidence that proves it. Hussein tells Hayat about Sayed's secret marriage. Hayat and her children return to their old apartment.
