Abu Maryan (Maryan's father) agrees with his wife to go to architect Suleiman's office to build them a new house after they receive a large sum of money following appraising and selling their old house.

As Maryan's mother and her daughter Dana ask Abu Maryan to go on vacation and buy a car, Abu Maryan quarrels with Suleiman because he is late in delivering their new house.

Abu Maryan accompanies his family for a walk, leaves them at the café, and returns home to flirt with the maid, Batta. However, Maryan's mother quarrels with him when she learns about it.

As Maryan likes the maid, Batta, Maryan's mother tries to prevent her husband from going out with Batta under the pretext of helping him search for a doctor to treat his leg.

As Abu Maryan returns with his family from traveling, Maryan asks Suleiman to quickly finish the new house as many problems occur between his parents. Dana's fiancé resents her mother's interference in their lives.

Maryan's mother objects to Abu Maryan's interference in her choices to establish the new house, and he tells Dana how much her mother spends on unnecessary things.

Abu Maryan claims that he is ill and that he needs to travel to Egypt to receive treatment so he can meet Batta; however, he is surprised by Batta's marriage and meets her sister, Wezza, and likes her.

Abu Maryan marries the maid, Wezza, and the wedding takes place. At the same time, Maryan's mother thinks Abu Maryan is receiving treatment in Egypt.

Abu Maryan returns from traveling with Wezza and claims that she is the cook. As Maryan likes her and tries to get close to her, Maryan’s mother finds out.

As Maryan's mother is forced to work as a knitter to support her children, Abu Maryan becomes in debt due to Wezza's several requests.

Abu Maryan is forced to sell the villa, and Shawqi informs Maryan's mother that Abu Maryan has fired him from work to please his wife, Wezza.

As Abu Maryan's health and financial condition deteriorate, Wezza asks him to buy gifts for her family in Egypt. On the other hand, Maryan tells his mother about his father's condition.

Abu Maryan is taken to the hospital due to his severe illness, Wezza asks for a divorce, and Maryan's mother returns to her husband and forgives him.
