Jamil and his partners decide to get a loan as they face financial hardship during the implementation of their project, but they soon become disappointed as the project does not turn out as they imagined.

Fadwa tries to persuade Jamil to meet with the minister, her former schoolmate, to help him obtain a license for the ice cream factory project. Many seek Jamil to help them present their problems to the minister, which he does, forgetting to present his own.

As Jamil gets a job opportunity in Yemen that’s too good to pass, Fadwa fears he might not return. Shakib suspects that his mother's cheating on his father as she receives love letters, but when Jamil returns from abroad Shakib learns that he was the one sending the letters.

When Sami discloses to Fadwa that he loves his classmate, she tries to convince him that beauty isn’t everything. Jamil and Fadwa play spin the bottle with Fayez and Nada, upon which the questions cause marital disputes.

Reem asks her parents to help her friend Rowaida, whose father cheated on her mother, but Jamil and Fadwa refuse to meddle, so Reem decides to help her friend herself, whereupon Fadwa receives a call from Rowaida's mother who tries to make her believe that Jamil is cheating on her.

Sami is almost hit by a car, after which the driver crashes into a tree, so Jamil takes him to the hospital, and soon the man gets close with the family, becoming like a grandfather to them, and Jamil decides to contact the man's estranged children.

As Fadwa gets bored with the dull housework routine, she receives an invitation to a party that brings back memories of the past, only to realize that her life with her family is better than anything else.

Signs of affluence appear on Shakib's friend who works in a nightclub. As Jamil’s family goes through financial hardship, Shakib decides to work in the nightclub, and when Jamil finds out, he decides to forgive him since his motive was to help his family.

As Jamil's mother comes on a visit, she begins to criticize Fadwa about everything, so Fadwa decides to prove that Jamil made the right decision when he married her.

Jamil and Fadwa are distressed by Sami’s repeatedly getting into trouble at school, whereupon Sami discovers that his classmate has implicated him in all these problems. Jamil fails to persuade his mother to live with him.

Fadwa goes to the doctor who asks that has tests and x-rays done, whereupon she becomes delusional and thinks she has an incurable disease and will die soon, but she eventually finds out that it’s all in her head.

As Fadwa stops hearing from her mother, she goes with Jamil to check on her, only to discover that she’s been depressed on account of an old love of hers, so the couple decide to stand by her to help her get through her crisis.

When Jamil travels with Fadwa on a belated honeymoon, leaving the children in charge of the house, they decide to throw a huge party at home, but when Jamil and Fadwa get back and find out what happened in their absence, Jamil decides to deal with them in a democratic way.

As Fadwa reaches the age of 40 and goes through menopause, Jamil tries to convince her that she is still beautiful, meanwhile the family's life is overcome by depression, so Jamil turns to Ladida, Fadwa's childhood friend, who succeeds in cheering her up.

Sami and his classmate work on their secret business selling old clothes, while Shakib and Reem embark on a detective-inspired adventure.

Jamil receives a letter from Homs that says he came into a great inheritance, so he travels to the address, only to discover that he has been tricked by two women who are trying to marry him, but he manages to escape with the help of his driver.

Jamil gets his medical reports and test results, but discovers that they are written in English, so he turns to his neighbor, the doctor, who tells him that he has a malignant tumor, which shocks and saddens him, till he finds out that it is a wrong diagnosis.

When the mother of Subhi, Jamil and Fadwa’s neighbor, dies, Subhi and his wife leave their daughter with Jamil’s family, who suffer from the inconvenience the child causes and her constant crying, till Subhi’s wife finally gets back and takes her.

Fadwa tells Jamil and the children about the story of her cousin, whose husband died in an accident and his family kidnapped her daughter before traveling abroad. The daughter returns to Syria after 19 years, and the family decides to host her.

During a school party, Shakib is exposed to bullying and ridicule because his name sounds old, so he decides to change it and refuses to be called by it. In the end, he comes to value the name that was his grandfather's, and decides to keep it.

When the neighbors get satellite TV, Jamil’s family gets a connection to watch satellite channels, whereupon the family becomes obsessed with watching TV all the time.

As the police chase an escaped mental patient, Reem lets into the house an unknown person, whom the children think is the madman, and while they are tying him up, Jamil comes home and tells them that it’s Azzam, his old friend.

Sami is in low spirits due to his poor eyesight, so Jamil decides to accept an offer to give private lessons to pay for Sami's treatment, and hides the matter from Fadwa, who suspects that he’s having an affair.

On a winter night, Jamil recalls the memories of his youth, telling his kids about the night of the party where he met their mother, and how their relationship went through many ups and downs until they ended up getting married.

Jamil is obliged to sign for his absent neighbors’ sofa that turns out to have a thief hiding in it, but as the thief is taken by the warm family atmosphere, he reveals himself and decides to repent before the police arrest him.

Nada, Sami's teacher, asks students to write essays, and as Sami writes a fictitious story about his evil family that forces him to beg, Nada tries to take Sami away from them and raise him, only to discover the truth from Fadwa.

As the appliances break down in Jamil’s house one after another, Shakib turns to his friend Naseem, who works in maintenance; whereas Jamil discovers that the cause is fluctuating electrical loads, so he files a complaint at the ministry.

When Jamil's brother and his family come to stay with him, Jamil is forced to sell Fadwa’s jewelry to raise money, only to be surprised by his brother giving him his inheritance from selling their uncle's store.

Reem gets an offer to work as model in commercials, so she agrees and hides the matter from her parents, but when Jamil finds out that his daughter has been taken advantage of, he steps in to save her.

As Jamil’s family home turns into a film set, many disputes arise between Fadwa and Jamil.
