A young woman leaves Egypt to escape a failed romance and travels to France to complete her studies. She meets an Egyptian young man there and marries him, but she discovers that he suffers from a serious illness and dies. She returns home to be surprised that he has bequeathed all his wealth to her, which arouses the hatred of her husband's family towards her and conflicts arise between them.
