Kawthar's husband, Nabil, asks her to close the drug deal before his death. Meanwhile, Hosniya and Abdel Hafiz along with their seven children suffer extreme poverty and Kawthar is generous towards them. When Atris robs the workshop where he works, the owner quarrels with Atris's family.
Following a quarrel with a man, Atris runs away in light of the police's attempts to locate him. Kawthar asks Honsiya to keep half of the cargo at her house, without revealing it's a drug shipment. Honsiya is later arrested when the drugs are found at her place.
When Kawthar claims the box isn't hers, Hosniya receives life imprisonment. Kawthar soon feels guilty and tries to make amends by taking Wafaa, Hosniya's daughter, home with her. Atris enters the correctional facility after a quarrel with the workshop owner. Saqr threatens Kawthar.
Kawthar flees with Wafaa from the house by the salt evaporation ponds and adopts her. Wafaa graduates from the Police Academy. Atris is released from prison. As Wafaa has kidney failure, Kawthar donates her kidney for her. Nora asks Atris to marry her.
Yehia and Wafaa develop a mutual liking for one another. Hosniya is worried about her children. Yehia proposes to Wafaa. As Atris starts working at a nightclub, the police arrest him.
Zaky and Nora get the man to drop the charge against Atris and the latter is released. Yehia and Wafaa get married. As Wafaa interrogates Atris about a theft, she lets him go when the real culprit is found. The owner of the house where Zeinab works attempts to rape her.
Atris beats the man who tried to rape Zeinab, and he and Zaky plot to rob his house. Atris is arrested and Wafaa interrogates him, trying to persuade him to change his vile ways and lead an honest life. Hosniya falls ill and is rushed to the hospital.
Kawthar and Wafaa run into Saqr at a store. Wafaa tries to convince Atris to ditch stealing and lead a virtuous life. Yehia is called to operate on Hosniya. Zaky, Nora, and Atris plot for a new robbery.
As soon as Hosniya recuperates, she sends someone to check on her children. Atris gets injured during the robbery and is hospitalized. Saqr threatens Kawthar into getting back to drug-dealing. Wafaa learns that Saqr is an ex-convict.
Wafaa tells Kawthar that Saqr is a conman. Ali, Atris, and Zeinab are reunited and they start looking for Hosniya. Wafaa suggests that Atris have a lawful business in trade, and Nora quarrels with him when he shows a leaning towards ditching robbery once and for all.
Kawthar's attempts to get Wafaa to ditch her job are futile. When Wafaa refuses to meet Saqr, the latter visits Yehia and a quarrel ensues. Yehia rejects Soha when she tells him she still loves him. Kawthar is worried when she learns that Saqr has visited Yehia.
As Aref reports Saqr to the police, the latter flees. Kawthar learns that Atris and Wafaa are close when Wafaa invites him to her place. Yehia urges Wafaa to choose between him and her job. When he cannot meet Wafaa, Atris sneaks into her room, and Yehia learns of it.
Atris is arrested and he confesses to Wafaa about his childhood and the tragedy of his family as well as his past encounter with Kawthar, which she denies. Wafaa tries to get Saqr to reveal his connection to her family. She eventually manages to find Hosniya.
Wafaa meets Hosniya and she learns that Nabil had died four years before she was born. Aref comes up with a plan to end Saqr's threats. Wafaa confronts Kawthar with the truth about her birth.
Kawthar breaks down and reveals the whole story to Wafaa. Wafaa tells Yehia that Atris is her brother. Both Atris and Hosniya are released. Hosniya forgives Kawthar and they all join forces to reunite Hosniya's children. Saqr's attempt to kill Kawthar is thwarted.
