After becoming an outcast following the aftermath of Harvey Dent's death, Bruce Wayne's resumes his role as the caped crusader who must defend Gotham City from Bane's plan of nuclear destruction.

After years after the events of its prequel, Gotham is at peace after Harvey Dent's murder. the Dent Act granted the Gotham City Police Department powers which nearly eradicate organized crime. A new evil rises in the form of a popular rebellion threatening to destroy Gotham City. Batman, now disliked by the people of Gotham after he took the blame for the death of Dent, feels compelled to help the city defend itself.
