Karima lives with her brother, Mukhtar, and his wife, Nabila, who treats her harshly, but he is always biased in favor of his wife because he knows that it's his sister who causes problems. Sania visits her sister Nabila, but she quarrels with Karima, goes out of the house, and doesn't tell her mother.

Reda is in a relationship with Sabreen, but her mother does not like him because she wants to marry her off to a very rich man who is several years older than her. Nabila feels very weak and vomits, so Karima tells her mother that Nabila is probably pregnant.

Sabreen agrees to marry Rashid who will send her to complete her studies in France. As Farid sees her with him, he grieves, goes home in a bad psychological state, and locks himself in his room. Othman meets a merchant with whom he agrees to deal and takes a sum of money without telling his wife.

Mukhtar is happy about his wife's pregnancy and gifts her a luxurious perfume, whereupon Karima gets very jealous and tells her mother that she no longer wants to do the housework. Farid meets Sabreen and asks her why she is not interested in him, but she does not tell him about Rashid.

Reda quarrels with Sabreen and slaps her when she tells him that she will get married to Rashid in a month. As Othman is addicted to playing cards and gambling, he tells his wife that he will always work at night in the restaurant, which she denounces.

Nabila borrows Karima's hair dryer from her mother-in-law, but it falls on the ground, upon which she fears causing problems and asks her husband to buy a new one. Othman loses a large sum of money in gambling. Sabreen's mother is happy because Reda knew everything and stayed away from her daughter.

Karima gets very angry when she learns about the hair dryer and quarrels with Nabila. Mukhtar comes home and hears how Karima threatens his wife, so he beats her, whereupon his mother intervenes. Othman returns home after losing all of his money in playing cards, and his wife grows suspicious of him.

Othman quarrels with his wife because she suspects that he's having an affair with another woman, while she's unaware that his only problem is that he lost in gambling and there's a possibility of him mortgaging the house. Mukhtar is reconciled with his mother and buys her and his sister new clothes.

Karima burns Nabila's clothes with an iron and runs to the kitchen as if nothing happened, but Nabila sees her, gets angry, and goes to her parents' house, especially since Mukhtar is traveling, while Karima is happy about her departure. Othman still loses in playing cards behind his wife's back.

Mukhtar returns from traveling and takes his wife from her parents' house, while Othman quarrels with his wife and children because he is late every night. He also goes to the fortune teller, Zubaydah, who gives him a lucky charm in order to win the game and not to lose again.

When Reda discovers that his father doesn't have a single dinar in his bank account, he tells his mother, who collapses. As for Othman, after he enchants the gambling table, he loses everything, so he leaves the restaurant and no one knows where he is, upon which Reda searches for him.

Amina quarrels with her husband Othman and tells him that all the money and the car he owns are from the money she earned in working in the salon. Reda learns from Merzak that his father is addicted to gambling and always loses. Othman's daughter, Nabila, is surprised when he visits her late at night.

Othman steals some of his wife’s jewelry to give it to the man who beat him in playing cards in exchange for 5 million dinars, but the man asks to have the money in ten days, so Othman goes to borrow from Mukhtar. Sania succeeds in university and throws a small party. Sabreen gets engaged to Rashid.

Mukhtar refuses to lend Othman the money until he pays off what he owes first. Othman gets angry when no one tells him that there is a suitor who will visit them, while Sabreen succeeds in university and wears a wedding dress, which she shows to her mother.

Amina discovers the jewelry is missing as she looks for it to give to her daughter for the engagement celebration. The man asks Othman to sign the house over to him in return for paying off his debts and returning the jewelry and money to him. Othman tells his wife he’s lent his friend the jewelry.

Othman borrows a large sum of money from his friend, signs a trust receipt, and goes to play cards with the money. He also receives an old friend of his named Haniya in the restaurant. Amina is sad because she received her daughter's fiancé without the jewelry.

Rashid goes to Othman's restaurant to reserve a room, while Othman sits with his friend Haniya for dinner and wins a round of gambling. As Amina is very sad because Othman slapped her, she decides to leave him, while her daughter Sania tries to comfort her.

Sabreen is preparing to marry Rashid, even though she is not convinced, but then the neighbor comes and tells her that Rashid has been arrested on charges of drug dealing. Samir sees his father in a new car and is sad that he did not tell them and that he still comes to the restaurant at dawn.

Samir fails to pass the baccalaureate, and his mother grieves for him. Othman spends the money on games and profligacy, and his friend asks him to pay off the debt. Sabreen is in a bad psychological state because of what happened to Rashid and not getting married to him.

Othman loses a lot of money in playing cards, while his friend demands to have his money back within two days. Sabreen goes to Reda's office, but he refuses to receive her, and she goes out crying. Karima, Mukhtar's sister, is preparing herself to receive the groom, and her mother approves of him.

As Sabreen gets into a car accident and enters the recovery room, her mother collapses when she hears the news and goes to the hospital. Her friend tells Reda, who decides to visit her and grieves for her. Othman writes a trust receipt to Khalil with the sum he took from him, and his debts increase.

As Karima gets married, Mukhtar is dissatisfied and expects his sister's remorse. As Reda and Samir discover where their father gambles, they go there while he is playing, and he suffers a heart attack, while Khalil chases after him to pay his debts. Sabreen recovers, much to her mother's delight.

Khalil goes to Othman's house to demand his money and quarrels with him. Othman quarrels with his wife and children when they ask him to stop gambling. Karima learns that her husband doesn't own the house, but his first wife does, whereupon his son kicks her out, so she returns to her family's house.

Haniya refuses to lend Othman money so that he can pay off his debts to Khalil. Othman dreams at night that he robbed Haniya's house, and when she sees him, she hits him on the head to death. Karima comes home and is treated kindly by her mother, while Nabila goes to the hospital.

Nabila has an abortion because of the psychological state she is in after hearing the news of her father's problem, while Karima has become kind and soft on her. Sabreen tries to get back to Reda, but to no avail, whereupon she accuses her mother of ruining her life.

Sabreen's mother goes crazy and enters a mental hospital after Reda refuses her request to return to her daughter. Othman places bets on horse races and quits playing cards after he has paid off his debts, but he also loses.
