Umm Aliwi complains to Al Aidrousi and his wife, Zaytouna, about her husband Abu Aliwi's violent treatment of her, and his prevention of the servant Bandar from helping her with household matters.

Abu Aliwi offers Al Aidrousi to open a vegetable shop and partner up with him. Zaytouna convinces Umm Aliwi to save money behind Abu Aliwi's back, and the latter suspects Bandar of stealing his money.

Umm Aliwi quarrels with Zaytouna and expels her from the house. The latter complains to Abu Aliwi, and Al Aidrousi asks Abu Aliwi to teach his wife the arts of etiquette.

Abu Aliwi refuses to give his wife money to go to the hairdresser with Zaytouna. Al Aidrousi advises Abu Aliwi to seek psychological treatment because he feels depressed.

Umm Aliwi quarrels with her husband about the many trips to buy household supplies, and that she feels tired. She asks him to buy her a car, and she goes for a medical examination to obtain a car license.

Al Aidrousi tries to mend things between Abu Aliwi and his wife, and invites them to go out to a restaurant, and they find themselves in an embarrassing situation.

Umm Aliwi tells her husband that she is on a diet to lose weight. She falls ill and is taken to the doctor, and Abu Aliwi is forced to carry out all her tasks.

Umm Aliwi goes to school to learn how to read and write. Abu Aliwi objects at first, but Al Aidrousi convinces him of the necessity of learning as well, and problems arise between Abu Aliwi and the class teacher.

Abu Aliwi threatens his wife that he will marry another woman if she does not obey him, and the doctor advises him to feign insanity to scare Umm Aliwi, who ends up placing him in a mental hospital, and there he finds that Al Aidrousi is among the inmates.

Abu Aliwi agrees with Abu Sharai to partner up with him in his new project by opening a café, and tells his wife that he is taking a sea trip with Al Aidrousi and his wife, Zaytouna.

Abu Aliwi follows up on the café's orders with Abu Sharai. Al Aidrousi warns Abu Aliwi not to pamper his wife and carry out all her requests. He is surprised that she follows fashion and wears short clothes that are inappropriate for their society.

Al Aidrousi travels abroad, and Umm Aliwi resents her husband’s visit to Zaytouna and his interest in her, and quarrels with him.
